Senior Accountant: Small Business Managed Services Flying Horse Capital | Accounting & Finance Managed Services Location: Remote (DFW, Austin, or Fort Lauderdale metro preferred) Type: Full-time / Part-time About Flying Horse Capital Flying Horse Capital is a Dallas-based permanent capital firm that acquires and holds founder- and family-owned businesses for the long term, with no exit timeline. Our Managed Services practice brings that same operating discipline to small businesses that need strong accounting and finance without building a full in-house team. The Role Do you enjoy helping small businesses? We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to join our Small Business Managed Services team and partner with owners and founders to transform their accounting, finance, and data. You’ll build back offices from scratch, streamline the ones that exist, and own accounting and FP&A for clients across multiple industries. A Program for Every Client Client needs vary, from roughly 5 hours a week to a full 40-hour embedded role. We have a program for each, so you may support several clients at once or dedicate yourself to one. Flexible Ways to Work With Us We match the right resources to each client. If you run your own bookkeeping, accounting, or finance firm, or practice solo, we want to partner with you. Hourly, weekly, and monthly rates are available, and candidates seeking full-time roles or part-time contract work are encouraged to apply. What You’ll Do Build accounting and finance back offices from scratch: chart of accounts, systems, workflows, and controls Own day-to-day accounting: AP/AR, reconciliations, payroll coordination, and month-end close Deliver FP&A: budgets, forecasts, cash flow management, KPIs, and management reporting Streamline processes and write policies and procedures that scale Use AI and automation to cut manual work and improve accuracy Clean up and transform financial data into decision-ready insight Serve as a trusted advisor to owners and founders, translating the numbers into action Adapt quickly to new industries and business models What You Bring 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in small business, client accounting services, or outsourced accounting Advanced QuickBooks Online skills; experience with similar platforms (Xero, NetSuite, Bill, Gusto, Ramp, etc.) Track record of setting up an accounting function from scratch FP&A capability: budgeting, forecasting, and modeling in Excel or Google Sheets Working knowledge of AI tools and a drive to put them to practical use Process mindset with experience documenting policies and procedures Clear communicator who can explain finance to non-financial owners Self-directed and organized; able to manage multiple clients and deadlines Bachelor’s in accounting or finance; CPA or progress toward one preferred Why Flying Horse Work directly with founders and owners and see your impact firsthand Variety across clients and industries Flexible engagement that fits your schedule Join a long-term-minded firm built by operators
