Why This Role Matters

As the Tech Lead for AI Chatbot & Agent Systems, you will be the driving force behind our flagship chatbot product. You’ll own the technical vision, guide the engineering team, and collaborate closely with product, design, and business stakeholders to turn ambitious ideas into scalable, high‑quality AI solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Architectural Leadership – Design and evolve LLM‑powered chatbot architectures, including agent‑based workflows, tool integrations, and memory strategies. Ensure systems are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with best engineering practices.
• Technical Direction – Define the overall technical roadmap, set coding standards, and champion the adoption of cutting‑edge frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph.
• Delivery Ownership – Translate product requirements into actionable engineering plans, break down complex initiatives, prioritize tasks, and coordinate cross‑functional teams to meet deadlines.
• Mentorship & Culture Building – Coach junior engineers, facilitate knowledge sharing, and foster a high‑performing, collaborative engineering culture that values experimentation and continuous improvement.
• Stakeholder Collaboration – Work hand‑in‑hand with product managers, designers, and business leaders to translate ambiguous business needs into concrete technical solutions, influencing roadmap decisions and feature prioritization.
• Innovation & Experimentation – Lead research into new agent orchestration techniques, prompt engineering strategies, and AI system optimizations. Validate prototypes, measure impact, and iterate rapidly.
• Quality & Reliability – Implement robust evaluation frameworks, guardrails, and cost‑performance optimizations to ensure the chatbot delivers consistent, trustworthy results.

Essential Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building LLM‑powered applications, with a deep understanding of agent‑based workflows, prompt engineering, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, and tool/function calling.
• Proficiency with modern AI frameworks, especially LangChain and, ideally, LangGraph.
• Strong background in software engineering, having served as a Tech Lead or Senior Engineer. Proven ability to design scalable APIs, backend architectures, and distributed systems from scratch.
• Demonstrated leadership skills: mentoring engineers, guiding technical decisions, and structuring work in ambiguous, fast‑changing environments.
• Track record of owning end‑to‑end delivery of complex initiatives—breaking down problems, prioritizing effectively, and ensuring consistent execution.
• Product‑oriented mindset: ability to spot gaps, propose structured solutions, and make informed decisions even with incomplete data.
• Excellent communication skills—capable of explaining intricate AI concepts to non‑technical stakeholders and aligning technical choices with business goals.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI‑assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Copilot, and a passion for leveraging these tools to boost productivity.
• Familiarity with advanced AI topics: evaluation frameworks, guardrails, cost‑performance optimization, latency reduction, and long‑term memory strategies.
• Background in deploying AI systems at scale in production environments, with a focus on monitoring, observability, and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and experience with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
