About brighthush

brighthush is a leading technology partner for churches, faith‑based ministries, and community organizations across the United States. By combining a robust payments platform with a comprehensive church management system, we empower congregations to streamline their financial operations, enhance member engagement, and focus on their core mission of service and outreach. Our integrated suite—Payments, ChMS/Realm, and a range of add‑on modules—delivers a seamless experience that scales from small local churches to national ministries.

At brighthush, we believe that technology should serve people, not the other way around. That’s why we’re committed to building products that are intuitive, secure, and deeply aligned with the values of the communities we serve. Our team is passionate, collaborative, and driven by a shared purpose: to help ministries thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Why Join brighthush?

As a Customer Account Executive (CAE) at brighthush, you’ll be at the forefront of our expansion strategy, driving revenue growth by unlocking new value for our existing customer base. You’ll work in a supportive, mission‑driven environment where your ideas shape product development, sales tactics, and company culture. We offer:

  • Competitive base salary ($60,000–$75,000) plus a robust quarterly incentive plan.
  • Full‑time, remote work with flexibility to travel as needed within your territory.
  • Comprehensive benefits: 100% employer‑paid medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, short‑term and long‑term disability, and supplemental coverage.
  • Generous paid time off: 9 paid holidays, 2 floating holidays, 4 weeks of PTO, and 8 weeks of paid parental leave after six months.
  • Paid volunteer time off to give back to the community.
  • 401(k) plan with employer match and annual performance bonus.
  • Ongoing professional development and a clear path to internal promotion.

Key Responsibilities

As a CAE, you will own a defined territory of existing brighthush customers and be responsible for expanding their use of our full product suite. Your role is focused on closing new opportunities, not day‑to‑day account management.

  • Own a named territory of customer accounts, prioritizing a data‑driven, quarterly‑refreshed list of accounts flagged with meaningful cross‑sell opportunity.
  • Meet or exceed an annual expansion revenue quota for your territory.
  • Run a consultative, needs‑based sales process from qualification through close, including discovery, proposal, and negotiation.
  • Partner with Customer Success Managers (CSMs) assigned to the same accounts for warm handoffs, account context, and coordinated outreach—your sales, their retention.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and opportunity tracking for your territory.
  • Build and maintain a strong understanding of brighthush’s full product suite (Payments, ChMS/Realm, and add‑on modules) to identify and position the right fit.
  • Represent the voice of the customer back to Product and Marketing on what’s driving—or blocking—cross‑sell decisions.
  • Collaborate with the broader CAE team on best practices, competitive positioning, and territory strategy.

Essential Qualifications

We’re looking for a seasoned sales professional who thrives in a data‑driven, territory‑based environment and has a proven track record of expansion selling.

  • 5+ years in a quota‑carrying sales role, ideally with account‑based or expansion selling into an existing customer base.
  • Experience selling to faith‑based, nonprofit, education, or community organizations.
  • Consistent history of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Experience managing a multi‑account territory or book of business.
  • Comfort with a consultative sales process involving multiple stakeholders (pastors, church administrators, finance staff).
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce or similar) and disciplined forecasting.
  • Strong discovery and needs‑based selling skills.
  • Ability to build trust quickly with existing customers without an established personal relationship.
  • Comfort working from a data‑driven target list rather than cold prospecting.
  • Clear, organized pipeline management and forecasting habits.
  • Collaborative mindset—success depends on working well with CSMs, not around them.
  • Resilience and self‑direction; a territory‑based role requires proactive prioritization.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following experiences will set you apart:

  • Prior experience with payments technology or church management software.
  • Familiarity with the unique financial and operational challenges of faith‑based organizations.
  • Experience in a high‑growth SaaS company with a strong focus on customer success.
  • Knowledge of industry trends such as digital giving, mobile payments, and data analytics for ministries.

Skills & Competencies

Success as a CAE at brighthush requires a blend of technical knowledge, interpersonal skill, and strategic thinking.

  • Strategic account planning and territory management.
  • Consultative selling and solution‑based communication.
  • Data analysis and performance tracking.
  • Strong negotiation and closing techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and market conditions.
  • Team collaboration and cross‑functional coordination.
  • Customer‑centric mindset with a passion for mission‑driven work.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

At brighthush, we invest in our people. As a CAE, you’ll have access to:

  • Structured onboarding and continuous training on our product suite, sales methodology, and industry best practices.
  • Mentorship from senior sales leaders and product experts.
  • Clear performance metrics tied to career advancement—whether that’s moving into a senior sales role, a sales leadership position, or a product management track.
  • Regular feedback loops and performance reviews to help you refine your skills and set new goals.
  • Opportunities to contribute to product roadmap discussions, ensuring your frontline insights shape future releases.

Work Environment & Company Culture

brighthush is built on a foundation of purpose, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Our culture is defined by:

  • Mission‑driven focus: Every product, process, and partnership is guided by our commitment to empower ministries.

  • Community engagement: we encourage employees to volunteer and support local causes.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $60,000–$75,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
  • Incentive Plan: Quarterly commissions tied to expansion revenue targets.
  • Annual Performance Bonus: Additional upside based on company and individual performance.
  • Health & Wellness: 100% employer‑paid medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, short‑term and long‑term disability.
  • Retirement: 401(k) plan with employer match.
  • Paid Time Off: 9 paid holidays, 2 floating holidays, 4 weeks PTO, 8 weeks paid parental leave after six months.
