Role Overview

As a Customer Account Executive – K‑12 EdTech Sales & Cross‑Sell Specialist at brighthush, you will own the full sales cycle for cross‑sell opportunities within an assigned territory of existing K‑12 customers. These districts already use brighthush’s core platform, and your mission is to help them expand their protection by adding new product lines that enhance student safety and wellness. You will collaborate closely with Customer Success, Solutions Engineering, Marketing, RevOps, and Channel Partners to deliver a seamless experience for our clients.

Why This Role Matters

Every cross‑sell deal you close directly contributes to the safety and well‑being of thousands of students. By expanding the suite of brighthush solutions in schools, you help educators prevent potential tragedies and create a healthier learning environment. If you thrive on numbers, enjoy building relationships, and want your work to have a tangible, positive impact, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Territory Management: Segment your territory into small, mid‑size, and large districts. Identify high‑potential cross‑sell targets and prioritize outreach.
  • Dual‑Motion Sales Strategy:
    • Small districts: Execute a one‑to‑many approach using scaled sequences, webinars, and bundled offers.
    • Mid‑size & large districts: Employ a high‑touch, personalized outreach strategy, including account planning, multi‑threading across superintendents, tech directors, student services, and business officials.
  • Full‑Cycle Ownership: Prospect, conduct discovery calls, build business cases, negotiate contracts, and close deals.
  • Pipeline Development: Build a steady pipeline that trends toward the coverage needed to hit quota. Maintain clean, accurate forecasting and stage management.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Customer Success to ensure smooth handoffs and with Solutions Engineering to tailor technical solutions.
  • Playbook Development: Share insights and best practices to help shape the playbook for future hires.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up‑to‑date on K‑12 buying cycles, procurement processes, and the evolving landscape of student safety technology.

Success Milestones

  • First 30 Days: Master the K‑12 landscape, product suite, pricing, and internal tools. Segment territory, identify top cross‑sell targets, and shadow Customer Success Managers (CSMs) and Solutions Engineers (SEs).
  • Days 60–90: Launch your first one‑to‑many campaigns for small districts and personalized outreach for priority mid‑size and large accounts. Begin closing early cross‑sell deals.
  • 6‑Month Mark: Close deals across multiple product lines and both segments. Demonstrate consistent pipeline creation and improving forecast accuracy. Ramp toward full quota.
  • 12 Months: Consistently meet or exceed quota. Operate a repeatable small‑district engine while growing a book of strategic wins. Contribute to playbook refinement.
