Senior Customer Growth Marketing Manager – North America – Driving Strategic Expansion, Retention, and Storytelling for B2B SaaS at brighthush
About brighthush
brighthush is a trailblazing Human Success platform that reimagines how organizations weave learning, performance, and engagement into the everyday tools their teams use. By integrating natively with our own suite of productivity and collaboration applications, we empower more than 2,000 companies to transform learning from a siloed HR function into a continuous, data‑driven journey that fuels growth, innovation, and employee satisfaction.
Our mission is simple yet powerful: make learning and development feel like a natural part of work, not a separate destination. As AI becomes increasingly woven into the workplace, the need for authentic human connection grows stronger. That belief is at the heart of everything we do, and it’s why we’re looking for a passionate, results‑oriented marketing leader to help us grow our North American customer base.
Why This Role Exists
The greatest growth opportunity for brighthush lies with the customers we already serve. Over the next few years, we plan to grow 3.6x from our existing customer base—driven by customer retention, adoption, and upsell. To achieve this, we need a dedicated marketing partner who knows our North American customers better than anyone else, understands their challenges, and can translate that insight into programs that keep them engaged, expand their usage, and turn them into advocates.
As the voice of marketing in the North America pod, you will work side‑by‑side with Account Executives, Account Managers, Customer Success Managers, and GTM Engineers. Your insights will shape regional strategy, influence sales priorities, and help us win new business by showcasing the real impact of our platform.
Where You Sit
- Solid line – Marketing: brand, messaging, performance, and career development.
- Dotted line – RVP Sales, North America: regional revenue priorities, target accounts, and program focus.
- Closest partners – Customer Success Managers, Account Managers, Lifecycle Marketing Manager, Product Marketing, Brand & Content, GTM Engineering.
- Counterpart – Customer Growth Marketing Manager, EMEA – sharing a unified playbook across regions.
- Regional pod – AEs, AMs, CSMs, SE/GTM Engineer, BDR, Channel.
- Cadence – weekly working session with the RVP, weekly pipeline review, weekly account and renewal review, customer and sales meetings, monthly regional business review, quarterly planning with central marketing.
What You Own
- The regional customer strategy – North America customer marketing plan, set with the RVP and regional commercial leadership.
- Expansion pipeline and ARR – influenced by your programs.
- Retention contribution – at‑risk accounts reached and re‑engaged before renewal.
- Customer stories – steady supply of case studies, references, reviews, and speakers from the region.
- Program performance – what worked, what didn’t, and next steps, reported monthly.
Key Responsibilities
Set the Regional Strategy
- Own the plan – define the North America customer marketing strategy in partnership with the RVP, sales, and commercial leadership. Identify target customers, industries, programs, and deliverables.
- Tie it to the number – build the plan around the region’s revenue, renewal, and expansion objectives, revisiting it quarterly.
- Report back – bring program‑generated pipeline, expansion ARR, and retention results into each regional business review.
Show Up with Sales
- In the meetings – join customer meetings, account planning, pipeline reviews, and forecast calls to align programs with live priorities.
- Run the matrix cadence – hold a standing weekly working session with the RVP to agree priorities, target accounts, and success measures.
- Be the connector – share engagement and risk signals with AEs, AMs, and CSMs so they can act first, ensuring tight handoffs between marketing and the commercial team.
Know the Customer Base, Deeply
- Build the regional picture – segment customers by industry, edition, size, adoption, and renewal date. Identify accounts ready to grow versus those drifting.
- Understand motivations – know what CHROs, HR & L&D leaders, and IT leaders care about and what keeps them loyal.
- Bring the customer into the room – share insights with Product Marketing, Brand, and Sales to shape positioning, content, and roadmap conversations.
Turn Signals into Programs
- Risk signals – collaborate with Lifecycle Marketing Manager and CS to design programs that respond to falling usage, low engagement, or upcoming renewals before churn occurs.
- Growth signals – spot accounts showing expansion intent and build plays with AMs to act on them.
- Test and refine – agree on program objectives, measure outcomes, and keep what works.
Run Industry Programs
- Vertical‑first – design industry‑specific programs for key sectors in North America such as financial services, legal, manufacturing, healthcare, professional services, and retail.
- Relevant content – work with Brand & Content to build stories, guides, and proof that speak to each industry’s real challenges.
Grow Accounts
- Expansion programs – partner with AMs to run edition moves (Grow → Scale → Transform), cross‑sell, and adoption programs such as Copilot readiness.
- Account plays – run targeted programs for high‑potential customer accounts, with account lists agreed with the RVP and AMs.
- Equip the team – design offers, plays, templates, and talk tracks that AEs, AMs, and CSMs can take straight to customers, ensuring consistent messaging and clear follow‑up actions.
Create Moments That Matter
- Customer moments in region – host user groups, roundtables, executive dinners, webinars, and events around major HR & L&D conferences to connect customers with each other and with brighthush.
- Community – collaborate with the Head of Community so regional moments feed the wider brighthush community.
Find and Tell the Right Stories
- Source the stories – identify customers with outcomes worth sharing and bring them forward for case studies, video, references, reviews, and speaking slots.
- Build advocates – grow a bench of customers who will speak for brighthush and look after them.
Work with the Central Team
- Central builds, region deploys – use central brand, product marketing, and lifecycle programs, adapting them for your region rather than starting from scratch.
- Use AI well – leverage AI and our signal tools for research, segmentation, and first drafts while keeping judgment, stories, and relationships human.
Essential Qualifications
- 4+ years in B2B SaaS marketing – ideally in customer, lifecycle, or account‑based marketing.
- Customer‑first instinct – you enjoy talking to customers and are genuinely curious about what drives them.
- Comfort with numbers – you can read usage, renewal, and pipeline data, find the story in it, and decide what to do.
- Program builder – you’ve designed and run multi‑touch programs end to end, from idea to results.
