About brighthush

brighthush is at the forefront of the next‑generation compute marketplace. We are redefining how enterprises discover, provision, and scale the raw power they need—whether that power comes from GPUs, CPUs, or specialized accelerators. By unifying fragmented compute assets into a single, intelligent, cloud‑native platform, we eliminate the overhead of traditional infrastructure management and unlock unprecedented agility for our customers. From research labs pushing the limits of scientific discovery to fintech firms demanding real‑time analytics, our global clientele relies on brighthush to deliver relentless uptime, rapid issue resolution, and on‑demand scalability.

At brighthush, we believe that the most powerful solutions are built by people who thrive on challenge, think critically under pressure, and are passionate about turning complex problems into elegant, automated workflows. If you are ready to join a forward‑thinking team that values technical excellence, continuous learning, and a culture of ownership, we want to hear from you.

Why This Role Matters

As a Senior Customer Reliability Engineer (CRE) at brighthush, you will be the frontline guardian of our customers’ uptime and performance. You will work closely with support, product, and engineering teams to triage, diagnose, and resolve incidents that impact thousands of users worldwide. Your expertise in Linux, Kubernetes, and scripting will directly influence the reliability of our platform and the satisfaction of our clients. In this role, you will not only solve problems—you will also shape the tools and processes that make our platform more resilient and easier to use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Lead the investigation of production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • System Diagnostics: Deep‑dive into Linux kernel logs, container runtimes, and network stacks to identify performance bottlenecks or failures.
  • Automation & Tooling: Design, build, and maintain monitoring dashboards, alerting rules, and automated remediation scripts using Prometheus, Grafana, and custom Python/Bash tools.
  • Customer Advocacy: Serve as the technical liaison between customers and internal teams, translating complex technical findings into clear, actionable insights.
  • On‑Call Rotation: Participate in a 24/7 on‑call schedule, ensuring that critical incidents are addressed promptly, regardless of time zone.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to post‑mortem reviews, knowledge base updates, and the continuous refinement of our incident management lifecycle.
  • Collaboration: Work hand‑in‑hand with DevOps, SRE, and product teams to embed reliability best practices into new feature releases.
  • Performance Tuning: Optimize resource allocation, memory usage, and network throughput for both CPU‑bound and GPU‑bound workloads.
  • Security Hardening: Apply security best practices to Linux hosts and Kubernetes clusters, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Author detailed runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and internal wikis to empower the broader engineering community.

Essential Qualifications

  • Strong hands‑on experience with Linux system administration, including kernel tuning, file system management, and security hardening.
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes operations: deploying, scaling, and troubleshooting clusters, understanding of kubelet, kube‑proxy, and CNI plugins.
  • Solid scripting skills in Python and/or Bash for automating diagnostics, data collection, and remediation tasks.
  • Familiarity with GPU technologies such as CUDA, DCGM, and NCCL, as well as high‑performance networking protocols like InfiniBand, RoCE, and Slurm.
  • Experience with observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, and log aggregation platforms.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code: Terraform, Ansible, and Helm for provisioning and managing resources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to document findings clearly and concisely.
  • Strong judgment under pressure, a proactive mindset, and a willingness to work flexible hours as part of a global on‑call rotation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in high‑performance computing (HPC) environments or cloud‑native infrastructure.
  • Background in performance tuning for GPU workloads and distributed training frameworks.
  • Knowledge of container security best practices and vulnerability scanning tools.
  • Certifications such as RHCE, CKA, or equivalent.
  • Previous exposure to incident‑response frameworks (e.g., SRE Playbooks, Post‑Mortem Analysis).

Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of Linux internals, container runtimes, and cloud native orchestration.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex systems, identify root causes, and propose scalable solutions.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable working across cross‑functional teams, translating technical jargon into business‑friendly language.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in a fast‑moving environment, quickly learning new tools and technologies.
  • Ownership: Takes full responsibility for incident resolution and continuous improvement of reliability processes.

At brighthush, we invest heavily in our people. As a CRE, you will have access to:

  • Mentorship from senior SREs and architects who guide your technical journey.
  • Regular internal workshops on emerging technologies such as serverless, edge computing, and AI‑driven observability.
  • Conferences and training courses—both virtual and in‑person—covering Kubernetes, cloud security, and performance engineering.
  • Clear career pathways: from CRE to Lead CRE, SRE Manager, or even Product Reliability Lead.
  • Opportunities to contribute to open‑source projects that power our platform, giving you visibility in the wider tech community.
