Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives

Role Description The Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives is a full-time remote role responsible for leading high-impact programs and projects that support the organization’s long-term vision and strategic priorities. This role oversees the planning, execution, and evaluation of complex, cross-functional initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and efficient use of resources. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating program timelines, managing project teams, analyzing performance data, and preparing executive-level reports and recommendations. The Senior Director partners with senior leadership and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities, define strategies, and implement solutions that improve efficiency, profitability, and customer or stakeholder outcomes. This role also establishes best practices in program governance, monitors risks, and drives continuous improvement across strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong Program Management and Project Management skills to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution. Candidates should possess excellent Analytical Skills to interpret data, evaluate performance, and inform strategic decision-making. Candidates should possess Consulting experience and Strategic Planning skills to diagnose organizational needs, design solutions, and shape long-term priorities. Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing diverse teams, influencing stakeholders, and driving change in a matrixed environment. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage executive leadership and cross-functional partners in remote settings. Proven ability to work independently, prioritize multiple initiatives, and deliver results in a fast-paced, remote work environment. Advanced degree in Business, Public Administration, Strategy, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience in senior strategic or program leadership roles is highly valued. Experience with strategic frameworks, performance metrics, and tools for project and portfolio management is beneficial.
