Senior Lead Product Manager – Reimagining the First Customer Experience at brighthush
About brighthush
brighthush is the nation’s leading on‑demand marketplace for home and outdoor services, boasting over $750 million in annual bookings. With a bold ambition to deliver “1 + job per household, every year,” brighthush is evolving from a lawn‑care specialist into a comprehensive, AI‑driven platform that unites homeowners, professionals, and technology under one seamless experience. Our three integrated brands—brighthush, brighthush, and brighthush—share a single, scalable platform that powers everything from lawn mowing to deep‑cleaning, appliance repair, and seasonal maintenance.
At brighthush, we believe that the first touch a homeowner has with us sets the tone for the entire relationship. That first experience is not just a funnel; it’s the foundation of trust, delight, and long‑term loyalty. We’re looking for a visionary Lead Product Manager who can reimagine that experience from the ground up, leveraging AI, data, and cross‑functional collaboration to create a frictionless, agentic journey that feels almost magical to the user.
The Opportunity
As Lead Product Manager – New Customer Experience, you will own the entire consumer journey from the moment a potential homeowner lands on our marketing site to the moment they book their first service. You will set the vision, prioritize initiatives, and partner with engineering, design, operations, marketing, and data science to ship a new, AI‑native experience that outperforms the legacy flow in conversion, satisfaction, and scalability.
Why This Role Is Unique
- Rebuild, Don’t Tune. You’ll start from first principles, not incremental tweaks. Every step of the current flow will be questioned and redesigned if it no longer serves the homeowner’s needs.
- AI‑Native from the First Screen. The new experience will be powered by large language models and autonomous agents that can understand intent, ask clarifying questions, and complete the booking without a traditional form.
- Cross‑Brand Impact. Your work will touch all three brighthush brands, influencing how homeowners, professionals, and the platform itself interact.
- Strategic Influence. You will collaborate with leaders in pricing, pro experience, and conversational AI to align the new flow with broader business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Define a bold, customer‑centric vision for the first service experience and translate it into a product roadmap that balances ambition with feasibility.
- Own the end‑to‑end journey: home page, marketing landing pages, signup, quote generation, service selection, scheduling, and checkout (including Apple Pay and Google Pay).
- Conduct deep customer research—interviews, usability tests, and data analysis—to uncover pain points, validate assumptions, and iterate on prototypes.
- Build and maintain a robust funnel analytics framework that tracks every touchpoint, identifies drop‑off reasons, and informs data‑driven decisions.
- Prototype AI‑powered signup flows using LLMs and conversational agents; test these prototypes with real users and refine based on feedback.
- Collaborate closely with engineering to ensure rapid, high‑quality delivery of new features while maintaining system reliability.
- Partner with design to co‑create wireframes, mockups, and high‑fidelity prototypes that embody the new vision.
- Work with pricing, operations, and pro experience teams to understand dependencies, mitigate risks, and ensure a smooth transition from the legacy flow.
- Champion the new experience internally, securing buy‑in from senior leadership and aligning cross‑functional teams around shared goals.
- Measure success through key metrics: signup conversion, first‑booking volume, CSAT scores, and long‑term retention.
Success Metrics (Year 1)
- Clear, data‑driven vision presented and adopted by senior leadership.
- At least one major component of the new experience live for real customers.
- Significant lift in signup conversion rate (target +15%).
- Increase in the number of households booking their first service.
- High CSAT scores for the first service experience (target ≥ 90%).
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of product management experience focused on consumer‑facing products.
- Proven track record of shipping end‑to‑end product experiences that dramatically improve conversion and satisfaction.
- Deep customer obsession: ability to empathize with homeowners and translate insights into tangible product improvements.
- Hands‑on experience with AI/LLM‑powered consumer experiences—prototype, iterate, and ship.
- Strong analytical mindset: build and own funnel analyses, interpret data, and drive decisions without relying on dashboards.
- Strategic thinker who can set priorities, say no with rationale, and influence cross‑functional teams.
- Experience in marketplace or personalization contexts, understanding how changes ripple across supply, pricing, and operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, engineering, design, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a fast‑growth, AI‑centric startup environment.
- Background in UX research, data science, or design.
- Knowledge of the home services industry and its regulatory landscape.
Skills & Competencies
- Customer‑centric product thinking.
- AI fluency: LLMs, conversational agents, and data‑driven personalization.
- Data analysis and funnel optimization.
- Cross‑functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
- Strong communication—both written and verbal—across technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Agile product development and rapid prototyping.
- Resilience and adaptability in a lean, high‑impact environment.
Career Growth & Learning Opportunities
At brighthush, you’ll be part of a high‑impact team that shapes the future of home services. You’ll gain exposure to:
- Cutting‑edge AI technologies and their application to consumer products.
- Strategic decision‑making at the intersection of product, operations, and finance.
- Leadership opportunities—while this role is an individual contributor, you’ll mentor junior PMs and influence the product culture.
- Continuous learning through internal workshops, external conferences, and a generous budget for skill development.
Work Environment & Culture
brighthush champions a culture of autonomy, transparency, and rapid experimentation. Our fully remote team spans the United States, allowing you to work from wherever you thrive. We prioritize results over hours, offering flexible PTO and a results‑oriented mindset. Collaboration is facilitated through weekly cross‑functional syncs, design sprints, and an open communication platform where ideas can surface quickly.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $170,000 – $210,000 (commensurate with experience).
- Equity: Share in the company’s growth—every new customer you help bring in directly contributes to your equity stake.
- Health Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- Remote Work: Fully remote (U.S. based).
- Paid Time Off: Flexible PTO—focus on results, not hours.
- Additional perks: wellness stipend, professional development budget, and a culture of continuous feedback.
