Senior M365 Collaboration Engineer Location: 100% REMOTE Duration: Long Term Position Summary We are seeking a Senior M365 Collaboration Engineer to support enterprise-scale Microsoft 365 tenant consolidation and collaboration platform migrations. This role is primarily focused on hands-on engineering, migration execution, coexistence configuration, and automation activities across Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with cross-tenant migration tools, PowerShell automation, and Microsoft 365 administration in large enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
Assess and analyze Microsoft 365 collaboration environments, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, mail routing, and tenant configurations. Support the planning and execution of migration waves for email, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive content. Configure and maintain coexistence solutions between source and target tenants, including: Azure AD B2B Cross-Tenant Synchronization Free/Busy Sharing Teams Federation Execute mailbox, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive migrations using Quest On Demand Migration and related migration platforms. Develop and maintain PowerShell and Microsoft Graph automation scripts to streamline migration and operational processes. Validate mail flow, directory synchronization, permissions, and collaboration services before and after migration activities. Troubleshoot migration issues, mail routing problems, and collaboration platform incidents. Support cutover planning, migration testing, user readiness activities, and post-migration stabilization. Assist in implementing and validating Microsoft Purview policies, including retention, compliance, and data governance requirements. Analyze dependencies involving shared mailboxes, business applications, identity systems, and network services that may impact migration activities. Collaborate with architects, project managers, security teams, and business stakeholders throughout migration projects. Required Qualifications 8+ years of experience supporting and administering Microsoft 365 environments. Strong hands-on experience with: Exchange Online and Exchange Hybrid environments Microsoft Teams Administration SharePoint Online OneDrive for Business Experience executing cross-tenant Microsoft 365 migrations in enterprise environments. Hands-on expertise with Quest On Demand Migration (ODM). Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API. Experience with Microsoft Purview compliance and governance solutions. Deep understanding of Exchange mail routing, DNS, and coexistence configurations. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within large-scale Microsoft 365 environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Teams Voice/Telephony migrations. Experience with migration tools such as ShareGate, BitTitan, or AvePoint. Microsoft certifications such as: MS-102: Microsoft 365 Administrator Messaging Administrator Associate Enterprise Administrator Expert (preferred) Experience working in merger, acquisition, or tenant consolidation projects.
