Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead the modernization of our customer identity and access management (CIAM) platform within the Retirement & Wealth division. This role is fully remote and open to candidates located anywhere in the United States. You will own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for CIAM, driving the migration of multiple legacy applications to a unified, secure, and scalable identity platform. Your work will directly impact the security, usability, and compliance of our digital offerings, ensuring that customers can access their accounts with confidence and ease.
Why This Role Matters
In the financial services industry, identity is the cornerstone of trust. As customers increasingly expect frictionless, secure access across devices and channels, the CIAM platform becomes a critical enabler of growth, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance. By modernizing our CIAM stack, you will:
- Reduce security risk and streamline compliance with industry standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
- Improve user experience by simplifying authentication flows, enabling passwordless and multi‑factor authentication.
- Accelerate time‑to‑market for new digital products by providing a reusable, API‑driven identity foundation.
- Enable data‑driven decision making through robust analytics and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Vision & Strategy – Define and communicate a compelling CIAM vision that aligns with brighthush’s overall digital strategy and business goals.
- Roadmap & Prioritization – Own the CIAM roadmap, balancing customer value, technical feasibility, risk mitigation, and cost. Use data, stakeholder input, and market research to prioritize features and enhancements.
- Discovery & Design – Lead structured discovery workshops, map current‑state journeys, and document system behavior, integrations, and failure paths. Translate findings into future‑state requirements and user stories.
- Technical Fluency – Develop deep expertise in authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML), identity platforms (Auth0, PingOne, etc.), API design, data flows, and security controls. Use this knowledge to challenge assumptions and guide product decisions.
- Backlog Management – Create and maintain an executable Azure DevOps backlog with epics, features, stories, spikes, and acceptance criteria. Ensure clear dependencies and realistic estimates.
- Cross‑Functional Leadership – Partner with engineering, architecture, security, operations, and program leaders to build credible plans that cover discovery, design, build, testing, cutover, rollback, and operational readiness.
- Go‑Live & Post‑Launch – Define readiness, go/no‑go, rollback, testing, and success criteria. Coordinate customer communications, support preparation, monitoring, and hyper‑care.
- Stakeholder Communication – Track risks, assumptions, issues, and decisions. Provide candid, data‑driven reporting to executives, product, and technology leaders.
- Influence & Autonomy – Work independently, create clarity in ambiguous situations, and influence decisions across product, technology, security, business, operations, and vendor teams.
- Continuous Improvement – Mentor junior product managers and analysts, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
Essential Qualifications
- 5+ years of product management experience in digital products, enterprise platforms, or technically complex initiatives.
- Proven ownership of a cross‑functional product or platform from discovery through delivery, rollout, and outcome measurement.
- Strong understanding of system architecture, APIs, data flows, integrations, security controls, and non‑functional requirements.
- Expertise in product discovery, roadmapping, prioritization, backlog management, and measurable outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for business and executive audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with CIAM, identity‑platform modernization, user migration, or credential migration.
- Hands‑on experience with Auth0, PingOne, PingOne Verify, PingOne DaVinci, or a comparable identity platform.
- Working knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, JWT, MFA, passwordless authentication, session management, or RBAC.
- Experience in regulated financial services (retirement, wealth management, banking, payments, insurance).
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, API documentation/testing tools, analytics platforms, and monitoring/observability tools.
- Experience in user‑centered design, customer research, journey mapping, or mentoring product managers and analysts.
- Relevant product, cloud, security, or identity certifications (e.g., CSPO, CSPO, CISSP, CISA) are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading large‑scale platform migrations or integrations across multiple business units.
- Deep knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks specific to financial services (e.g., FFIEC, PCI‑DSS).
- Track record of delivering measurable business impact (e.g., increased user adoption, reduced support tickets, cost savings).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive decisions.
- Experience working in a remote, distributed team environment.
Skills & Competencies
- Strategic Thinking – Ability to see the big picture while managing day‑to‑day details.
- Customer‑Centricity – Deep empathy for users and a passion for delivering delightful experiences.
- Technical Acumen – Comfortable navigating complex technical landscapes and translating them into product decisions.
- Collaboration – Proven ability to work effectively with engineering, security, operations, and business stakeholders.
- Decision‑Making – Strong judgment in evaluating trade‑offs, risks, and opportunities.
- Communication – Clear, concise, and persuasive communication across all levels of the organization.
- Adaptability – Thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment and pivot when priorities shift.
