The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• End‑to‑End AI Agent Development – From problem discovery with clients to production deployment, you’ll build intelligent agents that solve real business problems.
• LLM Integration & Prompt Engineering – Design and implement large language model (LLM) pipelines, including function calling, structured outputs, and retrieval‑augmented workflows.
• Evaluation & Testing – Define rigorous evaluation criteria, build test harnesses, and iterate until the AI behaves reliably in ambiguous, domain‑specific contexts.
• Client Collaboration – Work directly with client stakeholders to understand workflows, validate AI behavior, and refine solutions based on user feedback.
• Product Generalization – Partner with core engineering teams to transform client‑specific prototypes into reusable product features.
• AI Infrastructure Contribution – Enhance shared AI infrastructure, including agent frameworks, tool integrations, and deployment pipelines.
• Production Monitoring – Oversee AI system reliability, cost, and performance, ensuring smooth operation in production environments.

Who You Are

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on Python.
• Hands‑on experience with LLM APIs (Claude, GPT, or similar) and proficiency in function calling and structured outputs.
• Comfortable writing SQL for data exploration and building data‑grounded AI workflows.
• Experience with AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex).
• A proven track record of building a product from concept to production.
• Bias for action: you ship quickly, learn from feedback, and iterate relentlessly.
• Client‑centric mindset: you care about the end‑user experience as much as the code quality.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent experience).

Nice to Have

• Experience building agentic systems (multi‑step tool use, agent orchestration, durable workflows).
• Knowledge of backend languages beyond Python (Java is highly valued in our environment).
• Familiarity with financial data domains (portfolios, transactions, securities, accounting).

• Base salary: $163,000 – $203,500 USD (market‑based, location‑adjusted).
