About brighthush

brighthush is a pioneering, women‑led energy‑technology firm that is reshaping the way utilities and households interact with clean‑energy solutions. With a laser focus on measurable impact, brighthush equips utilities to navigate the rapid evolution of load flexibility, electrification, and carbon‑reduction initiatives. Our purpose is crystal clear: accelerate the transition to a low‑carbon future by delivering real‑world outcomes—sales, enrollments, energy savings, and revenue—through innovative digital experiences, data‑centric strategies, and strategic partnerships. At brighthush, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword; it’s the engine that powers every line of code, every campaign, and every customer interaction.

Why This Role Matters

The global shift toward clean energy is happening faster than ever, and consumers expect seamless, digital‑first experiences when they engage with utility programs. As the Senior Strategic Director of eCommerce & Customer Acquisition, you will be the architect and execution engine behind brighthush’s digital growth engine. You will design, build, and scale a world‑class eCommerce and direct‑to‑consumer acquisition platform that not only drives top‑line revenue but also amplifies brighthush’s mission to make clean‑energy solutions accessible to millions. Your strategic vision will dictate how prospects discover, evaluate, and purchase energy‑efficiency products, turning everyday transactions into powerful climate‑action moments.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Vision & Execution

  • Craft a holistic eCommerce and customer‑acquisition strategy that aligns with brighthush’s corporate objectives across utility marketplaces, limited‑time offers, and custom energy‑efficiency kit sites.
  • Translate ambitious sales, enrollment, revenue, participation, and energy‑savings targets into detailed roadmaps that integrate marketing, product, technology, and analytics.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams—including audience acquisition, digital merchandising, promotional planning, conversion optimization, cart recovery, cross‑sell, and repeat‑purchase initiatives—to deliver a seamless buyer journey.
  • Develop scalable acquisition frameworks for pay‑for‑performance programs where revenue is directly tied to enrollment or participation metrics.
  • Partner with Account Leadership to produce executive‑level performance dashboards, leveraging audience insights, funnel analytics, and financial modeling to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Marketing to design performance‑marketing strategies that generate high‑quality leads, accelerate the sales funnel, and maximize ROI.

Performance Marketing & Optimization

  • Own end‑to‑end integrated campaigns across paid search, paid social, display, programmatic, email, direct mail, retargeting, and strategic partner channels.
  • Establish rigorous testing frameworks for audiences, offers, messaging, creative assets, landing pages, and conversion pathways, ensuring data‑driven decision making.
  • Design lifecycle marketing programs that support acquisition, activation, abandonment recovery, cross‑sell, and re‑engagement, fostering long‑term customer value.
  • Monitor performance across media, email, and CRM platforms in real time, triggering cross‑functional action plans when key metrics dip below thresholds.
  • Leverage deep customer, media, marketplace, and program data to refine bidding strategies, allocate budgets, and guide investment decisions.

Capability Building & Leadership

  • Build brighthush’s enterprise‑wide eCommerce and customer‑acquisition capability, defining operating models, processes, standards, technology stacks, talent frameworks, and external partnership strategies.
  • Create repeatable playbooks and best‑practice libraries that can be deployed across Customer Engagement, Pay‑for‑Performance, and corporate demand‑generation initiatives.
  • Implement consistent KPIs, real‑time dashboards, forecasting models, and optimization rituals that tie marketing activity directly to program outcomes and financial performance.
  • Coach and mentor marketing, account, and program teams, while shaping the future organizational structure needed to scale the capability sustainably.
  • Foster a culture of disciplined experimentation, continuous learning, collaboration, and accountability across all stakeholder groups.

Data Strategy & Insight Generation

  • Partner with analytics and data‑science teams to build predictive models that forecast enrollment, churn, and lifetime value.
  • Translate complex data sets into actionable insights for senior leadership, ensuring that strategic decisions are grounded in robust evidence.
  • Champion a data‑first mindset across the organization, promoting the use of dashboards, A/B testing results, and attribution models in everyday decision making.
