Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Writer to lead the creation, maintenance, and evolution of user‑facing documentation for brighthush’s flagship scientific software platforms, including Phoenix. In this role, you will be the steward of clarity, ensuring that complex pharmacokinetic (PK), pharmacodynamic (PD), pharmacometric, and modeling workflows are translated into intuitive, accurate, and engaging content for a diverse audience of scientists, clinicians, and regulatory professionals.

As a senior member of the Customer Education content team, you will work autonomously across multiple concurrent projects, mentor junior writers, and collaborate closely with software developers, product managers, and subject‑matter experts (SMEs). Your expertise will help shape the documentation strategy, adopt AI‑assisted authoring workflows, and uphold the highest standards of scientific accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Documentation Planning: Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of product documentation for assigned brighthush products, from initial content strategy and architecture to final publication.
  • Content Creation & Maintenance: Write, edit, and update product guides, online help, release notes, and Help Center articles that cover PK/PD, pharmacometrics, biosimulation, and modeling workflows.
  • Structured Authoring & Reuse: Design modular, topic‑based content that can be reused across help, release notes, and web articles, ensuring consistency and ease of maintenance.
  • Collaboration with SMEs: Conduct interviews, review technical specifications, and participate in product design discussions to validate scientific and technical accuracy.
  • Release Management: Track documentation deliverables against development schedules, identify gaps early, and raise risks to keep releases on track.
  • Help Center Oversight: Manage the Help Center’s content library, analyze search analytics, and prioritize updates based on user feedback and usage patterns.
  • Quality Assurance: Enforce content standards, style guidelines, and documentation templates; review cross‑departmental documentation when requested.
  • AI‑Assisted Workflows: Leverage AI tools for drafting, editing, and reviewing while applying rigorous validation steps to protect scientific integrity and confidentiality.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Provide guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities to junior writers and content contributors.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience creating product documentation, context‑sensitive online help, and Help Center content for web‑ or cloud‑based software.
  • Proficiency in structured, topic‑based authoring and content reuse (single‑sourcing) using modern authoring and publishing tools.
  • Hands‑on experience with AI‑assisted content development, with a deep understanding of validation, accuracy, and confidentiality risks in scientific documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex scientific or technical concepts to varied audiences and to evaluate technical accuracy with SMEs.
  • Experience owning documentation deliverables through planning, development, expert review, revision, and release in an agile or release‑driven environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, including prioritizing multiple assignments, estimating effort, managing dependencies, and meeting commitments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to engage SMEs and communicate decisions to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or doctorate in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Familiarity with PK/PD, pharmacometrics, or modeling and simulation.
  • Experience documenting software used in regulated or validated environments (e.g., GxP, 21 CFR Part 11), including release documentation under change control.
  • Experience with docs‑as‑code workflows (e.g., Markdown, Git, automated publishing) or component content management systems.
  • Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for development and review workflows.
  • Experience producing screen captures, short videos, or interactive walkthroughs; familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG, Section 508).
  • Familiarity with a Learning Management System (LMS).
