Vice President of Manufacturing Operations
Role Description The Vice President of Manufacturing Operations is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading end-to-end manufacturing operations for StudentHero’s physical products and related services. This position oversees production planning, manufacturing processes, and operational performance to ensure high-quality output, on-time delivery, and cost-effective operations. The role includes developing and executing manufacturing strategies, implementing operational excellence initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as product development, supply chain, finance, and quality assurance. The Vice President will establish and refine key performance metrics, drive continuous improvement, and ensure that manufacturing operations align with StudentHero’s mission, growth objectives, and customer expectations. Day-to-day activities involve overseeing plant or partner performance, managing vendor and supplier relationships, reviewing operational data, and providing strategic leadership to manufacturing teams.
Qualifications
Strong experience in Manufacturing Operations and Manufacturing Operations Management, with a track record of leading complex production environments. Expertise in Operations Management and Operational Excellence, including continuous improvement, lean methodologies, and performance optimization. Proficiency in Supply Chain Management, including supplier management, logistics coordination, inventory control, and demand planning. Leadership experience managing diverse, distributed teams, with the ability to build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and inclusivity. Demonstrated ability to use data and analytics for decision-making, forecasting, and process improvement. Experience working in or with remote teams, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Background in manufacturing for consumer products, educational tools, or related industries is beneficial. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
