Role Description The Vice President of Strategic Operations is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing and optimizing MCS’s operational and strategic initiatives. This role leads the development and execution of organizational strategies, ensuring that programs, mentoring services, and partnerships are aligned with MCS’s mission and long-term goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing operational processes, reviewing performance metrics, driving continuous improvement, and coordinating cross-functional projects to support growth and sustainability. The Vice President will collaborate closely with senior leadership, mentors, volunteers, and external partners to ensure high quality service delivery, strong stakeholder satisfaction, and effective resource allocation. This position also plays a key role in financial oversight, including P&L management, and supports the design of scalable systems that can serve a growing community.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in Operations Management and Project Management to design, improve, and oversee organizational processes and cross-functional initiatives. Proficiency in Strategic Planning, including setting long-term goals, prioritizing initiatives, and aligning operations with mission and vision. Experience with P&L Management, budgeting, and financial oversight to support sustainable growth and responsible stewardship of resources. Strong Customer Service orientation, with the ability to build relationships, understand stakeholder needs, and enhance the experience of mentees, mentors, and partners. Proven leadership experience in a senior operational or strategic role, preferably within nonprofit, community-focused, or mission-driven organizations. Excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate across diverse teams. Understanding of, and sensitivity to, the needs and aspirations of Muslim professionals; prior involvement in community initiatives is beneficial. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Public Administration, or a related field; an advanced degree or equivalent experience in operations or strategy is an advantage.
