At brighthush, we are united by a bold, life‑changing vision: to add more than one million years of life for patients living with blood cancer by the year 2040. Our work spans local neighborhoods, regional hubs, and a national office that together power a relentless pursuit of cures, better treatments, and supportive care. Whether you are an accountant, a data analyst, a volunteer coordinator, or a frontline fundraiser, every role at brighthush contributes directly to the lives of patients, families, and caregivers who depend on our advocacy, research funding, and community‑driven events.

Why This Role Matters

The Customer Engagement & Cultivation Specialist is the heartbeat of our peer‑to‑peer fundraising engine. By building authentic, virtual relationships with volunteers and participants, you will directly influence the revenue streams that fund groundbreaking research and patient services. Your success translates into tangible impact—each dollar raised brings us a step closer to that million‑year milestone.

Key Responsibilities – What You’ll Do Every Day

  • Recruitment & Outreach: Conduct high‑energy, call‑based outreach to attract participants for signature campaigns such as Light The Night, Big Climb, and Team In Training.
  • Revenue Generation: Drive revenue targets for mass‑participation events by executing targeted live‑call scripts, text blasts, and digital follow‑ups that inspire donors to give.
  • Team Leadership: Own the performance of assigned peer‑to‑peer fundraising teams, collaborating closely with market‑based Campaign Managers or Directors to align goals and ensure transparency.
  • Strategic Execution: Implement revenue‑growth playbooks, track key performance indicators, and adjust tactics in real time to meet or exceed a $1,000,000+ impact threshold.
  • Data Management: Accurately log engagement metrics, donor interactions, and recruitment outcomes in our CRM system, ensuring data integrity for future analysis.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with local Campaign Development teams, national call centers, and communications specialists to synchronize messaging and maximize outreach efficiency.
  • Multi‑Market Coordination: Manage outreach across several geographic markets for the “Of The Year” initiative, tailoring approaches to regional nuances while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback on script performance, suggest enhancements to outreach technology, and participate in regular training sessions to sharpen your fundraising acumen.
  • Additional Duties: Support ad‑hoc projects such as live virtual events, special donor appreciation calls, and emergency outreach campaigns as business needs evolve.

Essential Qualifications – What You Need to Succeed

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Non‑Profit Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 + year of hands‑on peer‑to‑peer fundraising or volunteer recruitment experience, preferably in a virtual or call‑center environment.
