Remote Position

Medical Knowledge Expert

๐ŸŒ Remote ยท United States ๐Ÿ’ผ Full-time

Description About the role We are hiring practicing physicians for a short-term clinical data review project. You will review de-identified inpatient health records and apply your clinical judgment to determine the correct answers to case-based clinical questions. Please read this first: this is structured data annotation work . It is not an advisory, consulting, or research collaboration role. You will work through a high volume of standardized review items in a web-based annotation tool, following a written guideline closely. Your clinical judgment is the product, applied one case at a time. What you will do Review clinical judgment questions. Each item pairs a de-identified hospital stay with a clinical question and a draft answer. Using the full chart, decide whether the draft is correct, incomplete, or not supported by the record. Correct and explain. When the answer is wrong, enter the correct answer and a short clinical rationale that points to the supporting evidence in the chart. Review independently. Cases may be reviewed by more than one physician, so your reasoning must be clear, specific, grounded in the record, and following the pre-specified format. Check answer options. Some items ask you to confirm whether listed answer choices do or do not apply to a specific patient. Follow the guideline. Apply the definitions and criteria provided in each task consistently. Keep a steady pace. Most items take 5 to 15 minutes. Accuracy comes before speed. Required qualifications MD or DO with an active, unencumbered U.S. medical license. Practice in internal medicine, hospital medicine, emergency medicine, family/general practice, or critical care, or one of these subspecialties: cardiology, neurology, general surgery, pulmonology/critical care, anesthesiology, hematology, or nephrology. At least 3 years of clinical practice in the last 5 years. Hands-on experience with inpatient EHRs: clinical notes, labs, medications, and procedure codes. Available about 20 hours/week from Nov 9 to Nov 27, plus 2 training sessions between Nov 3 and Nov 6. Your own reliable computer and internet connection. No equipment is provided. Nice to have Board certification in your specialty. Current or recent inpatient practice (hospitalist, ICU, inpatient consult service). Experience with Epic, Cerner/Oracle Health, or Meditech. Chart review, utilization review, peer review, clinical research, or prior data annotation work. What We Offer: Type: Contract, remote (U.S.) Hours: ~ 20 hours/week or more (4 hours/day, Monday to Friday)
