Why This Role Matters
As the Principal Network Engineer for Edge & Customer Connectivity, you will be the technical steward of brighthush’s most critical network assets. You will shape the architecture that connects our customers to the cloud, to each other, and to the world’s most demanding applications. Your expertise will ensure that our B2B connectivity, WAN, and secure partner integrations remain resilient, compliant, and future‑proof. In short, you will be the guardian of the digital arteries that keep our clients’ operations flowing smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Architectural Leadership: Design, document, and govern enterprise‑wide B2B connectivity solutions, including IPsec VPN, MPLS, Internet, and cloud‑native pathways.
- Governance & Standards: Define and enforce engineering standards, architecture patterns, and operational best practices across all edge and customer‑facing networks.
- Technical Oversight: Serve as the senior escalation point for complex VPN, routing, WAN, and connectivity incidents; lead root‑cause analysis and permanent corrective actions.
- Innovation & Modernization: Evaluate emerging networking technologies (SD‑WAN, intent‑based networking, zero‑trust segmentation) and develop implementation roadmaps that align with business objectives.
- Collaboration & Mentorship: Partner with cross‑functional teams—security, cloud, application, and operations—to deliver integrated solutions; mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning.
- Automation & Resilience: Champion network automation initiatives using Python, Ansible, and cloud‑native tools to increase reliability, reduce manual effort, and accelerate deployment cycles.
- Strategic Advisory: Provide executive‑level guidance on network investments, capacity planning, and risk mitigation; translate technical concepts into clear business value statements.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Produce high‑quality technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and runbooks that support global engineering teams and compliance audits.
