QA Engineer - WFH
About the Role
Our client is seeking a QA Consultant with strong Java expertise to support major project initiatives as part of a multi-year technology modernization program. This role focuses on manual and automated quality assurance, test automation framework development, and API testing. Recent experience with IBM Rational Functional Tester (RFT) is a plus. Position Details Contract Duration: Long-term contract of 12+ months. Work Arrangement: Remote. Time Zone: Must be located in the Eastern or Central time zone and able to work Eastern Time hours.
Key Responsibilities
Design, maintain, and utilize test automation frameworks. Develop and maintain automated tests using Java and Playwright. Test REST APIs using Java and Playwright’s APIRequestContext. Implement Cucumber BDD testing using Gherkin, step definitions, and hooks. Design reusable service objects and page objects. Perform JSON parsing and schema validation. Maintain clean, reusable, data-driven automated tests. Use Git and continuous integration tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI. Conduct SQL and database testing. Apply test automation best practices throughout the quality engineering process. Collaborate with Agile teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
At least 8 years of experience in Quality Engineering, including significant experience designing, maintaining, and using test automation frameworks. Proficiency in Java. Experience with Playwright. Experience testing REST APIs using Java. Experience with Playwright’s APIRequestContext. Understanding of Cucumber BDD, including Gherkin, step definitions, and hooks. Experience designing reusable service objects and page objects. Familiarity with JSON parsing and schema validation. Experience with Git and CI tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI. Understanding of test automation best practices. Ability to write and maintain clean, data-driven tests. Experience with SQL and database testing. Strong communication skills and experience working in Agile teams. Experience in the financial industry.
Preferred Qualifications
Performance testing experience. Experience with legacy-to-modern application migrations. Experience developing test automation using IBM Rational Functional Tester (RFT).
