[Remote] Actuarial Associate, Growth

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Cityblock Health is a healthcare company that provides value-based care partnerships. The Actuarial Associate, Growth supports underwriting analytics, partner data evaluation, and pricing model development for prospective markets while collaborating with Growth, Finance, and Valuation Actuary teams.

Responsibilities

• Support underwriting and pricing analyses for new and existing partner deals, including development of MLR targets
• Write and maintain SQL queries to pull, join, and manipulate partner claims, eligibility, and revenue data
• Build and maintain Excel/Sheets-based underwriting models and analytical exhibits
• Develop and apply an understanding of Medicare and Medicaid program mechanics, underwriting selection criteria, and MLR/risk-contract structures
• Actively participate in peer review of technical work and provide technical review support to teammates
• Communicate analytical results and data findings clearly to internal stakeholders, escalating upcoming challenges proactively

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Data Analytics/Science
• 2+ years of experience with healthcare data and standard metrics (PMPM, gross margin, MLR, risk score), plus a basic understanding of Medicare and Medicaid
• Strong SQL skills (joins, subqueries, aggregations, CTEs), including working with non-standard data
• Experience with Excel/Sheets
• Progress toward SOA credentials is a plus
• Python is a plus
• Power Pivot or VBA is a plus
