In this role, you will be the frontline advocate for our members, ensuring seamless enrollment transactions, resolving issues, and upholding the highest standards of service excellence.
Why This Role Matters
Enrollment and claims processes are the lifeblood of the health‑care ecosystem. As a member of the brighthush team, you will play a pivotal role in guiding clients through complex enrollment transactions—whether they’re new sign‑ups, existing client updates, or transfers between Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) and non‑BCBS plans. Your expertise will directly impact member satisfaction, retention, and the overall success of our partners’ programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute enrollment transactions in strict adherence to contractual and medical underwriting guidelines for new clients, existing clients, and transfers to and from BCBS and non‑BCBS plans.
- Provide clear, empathetic guidance to members, helping them navigate enrollment steps, resolve issues, and answer questions about coverage, benefits, and plan options.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records of all member interactions, transactions, and follow‑ups in the company’s CRM system.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including underwriting, billing, and technical support—to resolve complex member inquiries and ensure a smooth handoff.
- Identify and document recurring issues or process bottlenecks, and propose actionable improvements to enhance the member experience.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs, including a 3‑4 week virtual onboarding curriculum focused on enrollment processes, compliance, and customer service best practices.
- Adhere to all regulatory and compliance requirements, including HIPAA, data privacy, and industry standards.
- Meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) such as call resolution time, member satisfaction scores, and transaction accuracy.
Essential Qualifications
- 1–2 years of customer service experience in a call center environment, preferably within the health‑care or insurance sector.
- Strong understanding of enrollment processes, medical underwriting, and the nuances of BCBS and non‑BCBS plan structures.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information in a clear, concise manner.
- Proficiency in using CRM and call‑center software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Demonstrated ability to handle high‑volume inbound calls while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.
- Passion for delivering outstanding customer service and a genuine desire to help members achieve their health‑care goals.
- Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and capable of working independently in a remote setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2–5 years of inbound call‑center experience, ideally in a health‑care or insurance environment.
- Experience with enrollment or claims processing systems, such as e‑claims, e‑enrollment, or member portal platforms.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (HIPAA, ACA, COBRA) and compliance best practices.
- Previous experience working in a remote or distributed team, with proven time‑management and self‑discipline.
- Multilingual abilities (Spanish, French, or other languages) are a plus, enabling you to serve a diverse member base.
- Certification or coursework in customer service, health‑care administration, or related fields.
