[Remote] Engineering Lead - Browser Automation, Web Scraping, AI

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. CyberCoders is recruiting for an unnamed client seeking an Engineering Lead to develop and expand AI-powered automation systems. The role combines hands-on engineering and team leadership, with responsibility for technical strategy, scalable automation systems, and reliable execution of complex workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers focused on automation, intelligent workflows, and AI-powered execution systems
• Drive the technical direction and execution of automation initiatives that improve coverage, accuracy, reliability, and scalability
• Design, build, and optimize systems that automate complex user actions and workflows
• Develop scalable architecture for automation platforms, browser-based systems, and execution frameworks
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Leadership teams to define priorities and deliver impactful solutions
• Improve system performance, monitoring, observability, and operational reliability
• Identify technical challenges and implement solutions that enhance automation success rates and user experience
• Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies related to AI, machine learning, automation, and intelligent agents
• Establish engineering best practices, code quality standards, testing strategies, and deployment processes
• Contribute directly to architecture, design reviews, and hands-on development as needed
• Drive continuous improvement through data analysis, experimentation, and performance metrics

Skills

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership experience
• Experience leading projects or small engineering teams while remaining hands-on in development and architecture
• Strong background in software development, system architecture, distributed systems, and scalable applications
• Experience building automation platforms, workflow systems, or intelligent software solutions
• Familiarity with AI-powered applications, automation technologies, or agent-based systems
• Experience working with APIs, cloud platforms, and modern software development practices
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup or growth-stage environment
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa
