Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Insight Global is recruiting a Grants Accountant for an unnamed client. The role supports financial management and closeout of research grants, overseeing grant accounting, compliance, reporting, and coordination with internal stakeholders throughout the grant lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of research departments and grant-funded projects
- Perform grant closeout activities for federal, state, and non-federal awards
- Review grant agreements and contracts to ensure financial compliance
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Monitor grant spending, indirect costs, and financial performance
- Set up and maintain grant workbooks and award tracking documentation
- Collaborate with research teams, department administrators, and stakeholders to answer questions and provide financial guidance
- Support month-end close activities and reporting requirements
- Manage workload priorities to meet critical grant and reporting deadlines
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience
- Experience preparing and posting journal entries
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Preferred Grants Accounting experience
- Knowledge of indirect cost calculations and grant compliance requirements
- Experience reviewing and interpreting grant contracts and award documents
- Workday experience, preferably with financial modules
