Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Capgemini is seeking a Mainframe DevOps Migration Consultant to lead and support migrations from Endevor and other SCM tools to IBM DBB, Git, and IDz/IDD solutions. The role provides technical leadership, implementation support, customer consulting, and training to help modernize mainframe application development and DevOps practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support application migration projects from Endevor and other SCM tools to IBM DBB, Git, and IDz/IDD solutions
- Perform installation, configuration, validation, and implementation activities for DBB, Git, and IDz/IDD environments on IBM z/OS platforms
- Analyze, convert, and validate existing applications and deployment processes to ensure successful migration outcomes
- Troubleshoot complex migration, build, deployment, and configuration issues while providing technical guidance to project teams
- Deliver customer training sessions and knowledge transfer workshops on DBB, Git, IDz/IDD, and modern DevOps practices
- Collaborate with client stakeholders, development teams, and cross-functional partners to ensure successful project execution and adoption
- Document migration approaches, technical solutions, best practices, and operational procedures to support long-term sustainability
Skills
- 8+ years of experience as a Mainframe Systems Programmer, Application Developer, DevOps Engineer, or related role supporting IBM z/OS environments
- Proven experience migrating from Endevor or other SCM tools to IBM DBB, Git, and IDz/IDD solutions
- Strong expertise in IBM z/OS, application development, software change management, and application lifecycle management processes
- Hands-on experience with Git repositories, branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, build automation, and troubleshooting failed builds or deployments
- Experience with Groovy scripting, YAML, and DevOps automation practices within enterprise mainframe environments
- Strong customer-facing consulting experience with the ability to conduct training, workshops, technical presentations, and stakeholder discussions
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with experience diagnosing and resolving migration and conversion-related issues
