Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. RISINGSUN TECHNOLOGIES is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop hardware designs and technical documentation for plant modifications and nuclear component design. The role supports first-of-a-kind hardware development through design, analysis, reviews, fabrication, and verification against applicable requirements and standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, modify, and update 3D models and 2D engineering drawings
- Perform engineering analysis and create specifications supporting hardware development
- Collaborate with tooling and analysis teams to meet nuclear quality and safety standards
- Communicate design challenges, schedules, and progress to field deployment, engineering, and project management teams
- Present designs during peer and leadership reviews and incorporate feedback
- Develop technical documentation throughout design, procurement, and fabrication
- Document and verify final designs against application requirements and applicable nuclear and ASME codes and standards
- Provide fabrication support throughout hardware development
Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- 7+ years of mechanical design engineering experience
- Proficiency in 2D drafting and 3D modeling
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience supporting fabrication
- Strong technical writing and engineering documentation skills
- Experience developing and implementing FOAK hardware designs and documentation
- Knowledge of ASME codes
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) modeling experience
- Nuclear industry experience
