Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. WellnWay is hiring a freelance product designer to take its existing children’s toy design through safety certification and manufacturing. The role also covers production-ready design, materials and manufacturer files, packaging, and collaboration with the founder and illustration team.
Responsibilities
- Pick up the existing design work and take it to a production-ready design
- Lead the product through U.S. toy safety requirements and certification (ASTM F963 / CPSC)
- Finalize materials (plastic, silicone) and prepare files for manufacturers
- Guide the project through manufacturing
- Design the product packaging
- Collaborate closely with the founder and the illustration team so the toy and its story feel like one world
Skills
- A portfolio that includes toys or products for children
- Hands-on experience taking products to mass production
- Knowledge of U.S. toy safety requirements and testing
- Packaging design experience
- Clear communication in English and comfort working remotely
