[Remote] Senior Accountant, Lease & Financial Reporting

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. G.A. Rogers & Associates is partnering with an established publicly held organization to hire a Senior Accountant focused on lease accounting and financial reporting. The role oversees lease accounting, supports close and ESG reporting, prepares reports, assists with audits, and improves processes and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day lease accounting activities, including new leases, renewals, modifications and terminations
• Maintain lease schedules, prepare journal entries and complete monthly reconciliations in accordance with ASC 842
• Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
• Assist with ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) reporting, including gathering information, validating data and preparing supporting reports
• Prepare additional financial and operational reports for internal stakeholders
• Work with different departments to collect information, research discrepancies and ensure reporting accuracy
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation
• Look for opportunities to streamline reporting, improve processes and strengthen internal controls
• Participate in special projects and other accounting initiatives as needed

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong general accounting experience, including journal entries, reconciliations and financial reporting
• Working knowledge of ASC 842 and lease accounting
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with accounting or reporting systems
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and work independently
• Someone who is analytical, organized and enjoys digging into the details
• Experience preparing or supporting ESG reporting is a plus
