[Remote] Senior Data Migration Engineer – AWS Cloud Migration

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. ScolerTec Inc is seeking Senior Data Migration Engineers to plan, design, and execute large-scale migrations from legacy platforms to AWS. The role focuses on migration architecture and automation, data transformation and validation, cutover execution, and post-migration stabilization.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute enterprise data migration, conversion, transformation, and archival activities
• Design migration strategies, migration waves, schedules, dependencies, and execution procedures
• Build and maintain migration scripts, SQL, and ETL/ELT pipelines for legacy-to-cloud data transfers
• Perform source data profiling, cleansing, transformation, and source-to-target mapping
• Implement full-load and incremental/CDC migration approaches where appropriate
• Perform automated reconciliation, completeness checks, validation, and post-load QA
• Support migration testing, mock migrations, rehearsals, cutover preparation, production cutover, rollback, and stabilization
• Troubleshoot migration failures, discrepancies, data-quality issues, and performance bottlenecks
• Optimize migration jobs for high-volume datasets, throughput, scalability, and minimal downtime
• Develop and maintain migration runbooks, mapping documents, issue logs, execution reports, and operational procedures
• Support migration and integration across Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and other enterprise data platforms
• Work with AWS services and cloud-native data platforms such as RDS/Aurora, Redshift, S3, Glue, Databricks, or comparable technologies
• Automate provisioning, migration workflows, data loading, and monitoring using Terraform, Python, SQL, dbt, or similar tools
• Integrate migration solutions with CI/CD and enterprise DevSecOps processes
• Support IAM/RBAC, security, privacy, retention, classification, and governance requirements
• Collaborate with DBAs, architects, data engineers, platform engineers, governance teams, QA, and business stakeholders
• Support disaster recovery, failover, cloud performance, and post-migration operational readiness

Skills

• 5+ years of specialized experience in enterprise data migration, ETL/ELT, data engineering, or cloud modernization
• Strong hands-on experience with legacy-to-AWS data migration
• Hands-on experience with AWS DMS, AWS SCT, or comparable cloud migration technologies
• Experience migrating enterprise databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, or PostgreSQL to AWS cloud platforms
• Experience with full-load and CDC/incremental migration patterns
• Strong experience with source-to-target mapping, data profiling, validation, reconciliation, and completeness testing
• Experience participating in mock migrations, cutover planning/execution, rollback planning, and post-migration stabilization
• Strong Python and SQL skills
• Strong ETL/ELT and data-transformation experience
• Experience with AWS services such as S3, RDS/Aurora, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, or Step Functions
• Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, DevSecOps, or enterprise release pipelines
• Strong SQL performance tuning, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization skills
• Experience supporting large-scale or high-volume migrations
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Redshift preferred
• Federal, public-sector, regulated-industry, or security-sensitive environment experience preferred
