Remote Position
[Remote] Software Development Manager - Growth
๐ Remote ยท United States
๐ผ Full-time
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Jane is hiring a Software Development Manager to lead its Activation team in improving clinic onboarding and building a new agentic onboarding experience. The role combines hands-on technical leadership and people management with ownership of activation outcomes, AI-driven product development, and experimentation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of developers, coaching each person on their technical and professional skills so they keep building their craft and their career
- Build alongside the team by reviewing architecture, pairing, and shipping, so technical depth stays one of the group's real strengths
- Own Activation as an outcome with your partners in product, design, and data, and change course when something ships but doesn't help clinics get going
- Bring a point of view to our direction on AI-driven onboarding, from how to frame the problem to what to build first and where we need better infrastructure
- Shape how the team ships, with small weekly releases, instrumentation that shows what actually happened, and experiments designed to teach us something either way
- Champion pragmatic, responsible AI adoption by trying every tool, pushing on it, learning how the team uses it, and bringing the same care to the AI experiences we build for clinics
- Partner closely with the teams around us, including Jane AI, our AI assistant teams, and other core product teams, so clinics get one connected experience
Skills
- You started out as a hands-on software developer and have since grown into leading a development team as a people manager
- You still write and review code and want to keep doing it, and you're comfortable weighing architectural tradeoffs and guiding technical direction alongside senior and staff developers
- You've worked on a growth or product-led growth team and owned an outcome like activation or conversion, including at least one stretch where the work shipped and the number didn't move
- You've taken an AI product from idea to customers and on to revenue, owning it end to end, and you have a clear view of where AI earned its place and where it didn't
- You know what good instrumentation looks like and have run experiments properly, including calling it when the result isn't there yet
- You love coaching and can share a couple of good examples of helping people on your team grow
- You open conversations rather than wait for them, and you're comfortable offering a view and being wrong about it in the room
- Experience in healthcare or other vertical SaaS is a nice bonus
Benefits
- Equity through our JSOP (Jane Stock Option Plan).
