[Remote] Spring 2027 DNC Accounting Internship

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is hiring an Accounting Intern to support day-to-day financial operations, including financial processes, budget tracking, and compliance. The intern will work with the Accounting Team, external partners, vendors, and colleagues across departments while gaining experience in nonprofit and political accounting.

Responsibilities

• Track, analyze, and reconcile cumulative vendor payments against statutory IRS thresholds to determine 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC eligibility
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations, post general ledger journal entries, and assist with account analysis
• Support day-to-day accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processing, vendor invoice management, and expense report verification

• Eager to learn, reliable, and able to work well independently and on a collaborative team
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and clear written and verbal communication abilities
• Applicants must be 18 years of age on or before the first day of the internship
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a college, community college, or university (two-to-four year institution)
• Graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program at a college, community college, or university (two-to-four year institution) no more than two years before the first day of the internship
• A veteran of the United States Armed Forces who possesses a high school diploma or its equivalent and has served on active duty, for any length of time, in the two years preceding the first day of the internship
• Commitment of 20 hours per week during the program
• Physically present in the United States to participate in this internship program
• It is highly recommended that applicants complete at least one full term prior to submitting an application

Benefits

• The DNC Internship Program provides a stipend of $3,700.
• The program may be conducted in an in-person, hybrid, or remote format; interns based in the Washington D.C. area have an opportunity to perform in-person work at DNC Headquarters and DNC events.
