[Remote] Video Game Charity Project - Level Designer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Pixel Games Studio, the game development branch of Boundless Gamers, is seeking a Level Designer to create playable spaces that support gameplay mechanics and narrative goals. The role involves designing, blocking out, and implementing levels in Unreal Engine 5.7, including level flow, pacing, lighting, audio, and interactive elements.

Responsibilities

• This role involves designing, blocking out, and implementing game levels that support our core gameplay mechanics and narrative goals
• You will be responsible for setting up level flow, pacing, and challenges, working within Unreal Engine 5.7 to place assets, integrate lighting and audio, and utilize Blueprints to implement interactive elements and ensure a polished player experience

Skills

• Proven experience in level design using a modern game engine (Unreal Engine)
• Strong proficiency in Unreal Engine 5.7 for environment assembly, lighting setup, and basic scripting via Blueprints
• Excellent understanding of level pacing, player flow, and environmental storytelling
• Ability to translate 2D maps/concepts and written design documents into functional 3D spaces
• Experience with level layout and block-out using gray-box methodology
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills related to level geometry and game logic
• Excellent communication and time management skills
