Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will own the technical vision for Customer Resiliency and drive execution across multiple domains. Your day‑to‑day activities will include:

• Articulate and evangelize a bold, forward‑looking technical strategy that aligns with brighthush’s long‑term product roadmap.
• Decompose complex, cross‑functional problems into actionable, scalable solutions that can be delivered by distributed teams.
• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of high‑availability, low‑latency services that underpin card acquisition, fraud detection, and transaction processing.
• Serve as the authoritative expert on non‑functional requirements—performance, scalability, security, observability, and operability—ensuring they are baked into every design decision.
• Champion the modernization of legacy monoliths, steering teams toward microservice architectures, containerization, and event‑driven patterns.
• Collaborate with senior architects and platform leaders to define API standards, governance models, and platform roadmaps.
• Mentor and coach senior engineers, product managers, and junior developers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Drive cross‑divisional initiatives that promote best practices, tooling, and process enhancements across the organization.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum 9 years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, and enterprise design patterns.
