Our work transforms how citizens interact with their governments, making public services more accessible, transparent, and responsive.

About the Role

As a Senior Customer Analytics Data Analyst, you will be the subject‑matter expert for customer analytics, measurement, and reporting within brighthush’s Digital Experience Group. You will own the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of analytics workstreams that help government clients understand program performance, optimize digital communications, and achieve measurable outcomes. Operating as an advanced individual contributor, you will lead analytics initiatives, set best practices, make technical decisions, and mentor junior analysts.

Key Responsibilities

Analytics Leadership

  • Own end‑to‑end analytics workstreams for assigned client engagements, from requirements definition through insight communication and optimization recommendations.
  • Design, build, and maintain measurement frameworks that define KPIs, success metrics, and performance benchmarks for digital communication programs across email, web, surveys, forms, and other channels.
  • Architect, develop, and continuously optimize dashboards and reporting solutions that integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and governance.
  • Define, document, and champion analytics standards, reporting methodologies, and data governance best practices for the entire Digital Experience Group.
  • Serve as the primary analytics point of contact for client engagements, leading requirements‑gathering sessions and presenting data‑driven findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences, including senior government stakeholders.
  • Mentor and coach junior analysts on SQL, data visualization, measurement strategy, and analytics best practices; conduct structured peer reviews and quality assurance of team deliverables.
  • Investigate, root‑cause, and resolve data quality and consistency issues across reporting systems; establish preventive controls and documentation standards.
  • Identify, evaluate, and introduce emerging analytics approaches, AI‑enabled tools, and productivity technologies into the analytics workflow; lead research and proof‑of‑concept efforts.
  • Lead analytics‑related Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and stand‑ups; define and track analytics acceptance criteria and delivery milestones.
  • Proactively identify opportunities where data can improve customer program outcomes and internal service delivery; present evidence‑based recommendations that influence measurement strategy.

Strategic Impact

  • Translate complex data into actionable insights that drive digital transformation for government clients.
  • Influence measurement strategy and help clients set realistic, data‑driven goals for their digital initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—designers, strategists, developers—to embed analytics into the product development lifecycle.
  • Champion a culture of data literacy and evidence‑based decision making across the organization.

Essential Qualifications

  • 4–6 years of experience as a data analyst, analytics engineer, digital analyst, or reporting analyst in a professional services, agency, or technology environment.
  • Advanced SQL proficiency: complex query design, data modeling, performance optimization, and multi‑source dataset manipulation.
  • Expert‑level proficiency in at least one major BI platform (QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker) with a proven track record of dashboard architecture for executive and operational audiences.
  • Demonstrated ownership of analytics workstreams, measurement frameworks, or reporting infrastructure—evidence of leading deliverables end‑to‑end.
  • Experience designing measurement strategies or analytics frameworks from first principles, including KPI definition and performance benchmarking.
  • Strong communication skills: ability to present analytical findings and recommendations to senior or executive‑level stakeholders, including government clients.
  • Experience working across digital channels (email, web, surveys, CRM, social) with cross‑channel measurement design.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching junior analysts, with evidence of structured peer review or quality assurance contributions.
  • Experience with AI‑assisted analytics tools and productivity platforms, with responsible use within data governance requirements.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery frameworks in an analytics or data context.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, Marketing, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a digital agency, GovTech, or government‑customer‑facing analytics environment.
  • Familiarity with government digital communications programs (email, web, civic engagement platforms).
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and data quality standards.
  • Experience with ETL processes and data integration in multi‑source environments.
  • Proficiency in AI‑enabled productivity tools such as Copilot, Cursor, or similar.
