About brighthush

brighthush is one of the United Kingdom’s largest privately‑held software innovators, trusted by more than 100,000 businesses, schools, and professional services firms worldwide. Our solutions power the daily operations of over 12,000 educational institutions, support 1 in 6 UK employees, and are the backbone for 91 of the top 100 UK accountancy firms. Recognised as a brighthush certified employer for well‑being, inclusion, and continuous development, we are on an accelerated growth trajectory and are looking for passionate marketers who want to shape the future of customer experience on a global scale.

Why This Role Matters

As the Senior Customer Marketing Manager for the United States, you will be the guardian of retention, revenue, and trust for brighthush’s most valuable customers. You will own end‑to‑end US‑focused customer journeys, turning complex lifecycle moments—renewals, advocacy initiatives, and migration projects—into clear, compelling experiences that reinforce the value of brighthush’s platform. This is a fully remote, US‑based position that reports into brighthush’s UK‑based Customer Marketing team, giving you a unique platform to influence both regional and global strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute US retention programmes that proactively identify churn risk, deliver targeted interventions, and showcase long‑term value.
  • Lead advocacy initiatives across the United States, collaborating with Sales, Product, and Customer Success to secure authentic testimonials, in‑depth case studies, and third‑party reviews.
  • Own migration communications for product upgrades or platform changes, handling planning, sequencing, quality assurance, live delivery, and performance monitoring.
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for assigned customer journeys, ensuring accuracy, compliance, timing, and rapid escalation when needed.
  • Adapt global frameworks for the US market by partnering closely with UK‑based Customer Marketing colleagues.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams including Product, Renewals, Support, Professional Services, and Marketing Operations to deliver seamless experiences.
  • Analyse programme performance using data‑driven insights to continuously optimise engagement, reduce churn, and increase advocacy metrics.
  • Maintain brand integrity by ensuring all communications align with brighthush brand guidelines, legal, and compliance standards.
  • Provide market intelligence from the US customer base to inform product roadmaps and broader marketing strategies.

What This Role Is Not

  • It is not an entry‑level or junior marketing position.
  • It does not focus on new‑customer acquisition or demand generation.
  • It is not a task‑only execution role; you will own entire journeys, not isolated campaigns.
  • It is unsuitable for candidates without proven customer‑marketing experience.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience in customer marketing, lifecycle marketing, or customer communications.
  • Demonstrated success delivering retention, advocacy, or migration/change programmes at scale.
  • Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders across multiple functions and geographies.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with a talent for translating complex concepts into clear, concise messaging.
  • Comfortable operating autonomously in a remote, globally‑distributed reporting structure.
  • Experience with leading marketing automation, CRM, and project‑management platforms (e.g., brighthush, brighthush, brighthush, brighthush).
  • High attention to detail and sound judgement in compliance‑sensitive environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in SaaS or enterprise software markets, particularly within education or professional services.
  • Familiarity with data‑visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to surface actionable insights.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional workshops or training sessions for internal teams.
  • Track record of building a library of high‑quality advocacy assets (videos, case studies, reviews).
  • Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) or marketing automation (e.g., brighthush Certified).

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Strategic thinking: Ability to see the big picture while executing granular tactics.
  • Customer‑centric mindset: Deep empathy for the end‑user and a relentless focus on delivering value.
  • Analytical acumen: Comfortable interpreting churn metrics, NPS scores, and campaign ROI.
  • Project leadership: Skilled at managing timelines, resources, and risk across multiple workstreams.
  • Collaboration: Proven success partnering with product, sales, support, and operations teams.
  • Compliance awareness: Understanding of data‑privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and ability to embed them in communications.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑changing environment where priorities shift quickly.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

At brighthush, your career path is as dynamic as the market you serve. As you master US‑focused retention and advocacy, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Expand your influence to other regions, shaping global customer‑marketing strategies.
  • Lead a dedicated US Customer Marketing team as the function scales.
  • Participate in brighthush’s internal leadership development program, including mentorship, executive shadowing, and cross‑functional rotations.
  • Attend industry conferences, webinars, and workshops funded by brighthush to stay ahead of emerging trends.
  • Earn certifications in advanced analytics, product marketing, and change management.

  • 401(k) matching program.
  • Annual professional development stipend.
  • Remote‑work allowance for home‑office equipment and internet.
  • Generous parental leave and family‑friendly policies.
  • Access to brighthush’s employee assistance program and wellness platform.

Measures of Success

In this role, your impact will be measured by tangible outcomes such as:

  • Reduced churn rates across assigned US customer segments.
  • Timely, accurate, and compliant communications during migrations or major product changes.
  • Growth in high‑quality advocacy assets (case studies, video testimonials, third‑party reviews).
  • Strengthened relationships with key accounts, reflected in higher NPS and renewal rates.
  • Positive feedback from both UK and US stakeholders regarding collaboration and delivery.
