The Opportunity
As Senior Director, Customer Value Engineering & Strategic Portfolio Enablement (U.S.), you will lead and develop the U.S. Customer Value Engineering (CVE) team, contribute to global CVE strategy and standards as a member of the global leadership team, and translate agreed direction into effective U.S. execution. You will own coverage and day‑to‑day decisions, scaling impact through coaching and selective field engagement rather than personally carrying every opportunity. Your team supports complex, multi‑stakeholder enterprise opportunities across brighthush’s broad product portfolio, engaging executive sponsors, business leaders, and technical stakeholders.
How the Role Works With Other Teams
- Account Executives own the opportunity, forecast, commercial strategy, and customer relationship; the Director coaches CVEs to strengthen discovery, solution fit, value evidence, and progression.
- Professional Services owns delivery execution; CVEs partner before close to validate feasibility and clarify the customer’s intended outcomes and assumptions.
- Customer Value Advisors lead ongoing customer value conversations; CVEs provide the context and evidence needed for continuity into adoption, renewal readiness, and expansion.
- Product and strategic partners contribute to solution and market alignment; CVEs bring forward customer problems, affected stakeholders, business impact, use cases, and evidence of value.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing CVE team; set clear expectations, inspect customer work, and build technical and value skills, career growth, and shared practices.
- Shape global CVE strategy, standards, and measures with leadership peers; bring U.S. customer and field evidence, recommend improvements, and translate agreed direction into practical U.S. execution.
- Own U.S. coverage, prioritization, and routine resource decisions; align capacity to qualified opportunities based on strategic value, complexity, partner involvement, and delivery risk, escalating material cross‑region or global tradeoffs.
- Coach CVEs to turn customer priorities into clear problem statements, value hypotheses, measurable outcomes, and evidence plans for executive, business, and technical stakeholders.
- Set expectations for decision‑criteria‑led solution validation, demonstrations, workshops, and proofs of value; assess technical and value fit, surface gaps and risks early, and help teams build decision‑ready opportunities with credible evidence and a feasible delivery path.
- Bring sufficient technical depth to coach solution fit across brighthush’s broad, complex portfolio and selectively model technical discovery, validation, or a purposeful demonstration in strategic or complex engagements—without becoming the default deal owner.
- Preserve customer outcomes, assumptions, and value evidence through implementation handoffs and ongoing value realization; clarify lifecycle accountabilities with Professional Services and Customer Value Advisors, and intervene selectively when risk or complexity warrants.
- Establish a performance‑review cadence and reliable measures for individual and team effectiveness, sales‑play impact, engagement quality, capacity and resource allocation, and customer and commercial outcomes; partner with Revenue Operations to set baselines and use data to coach and improve decisions.
- Turn recurring customer evidence, value patterns, and objections into improvements to team enablement, engagement practices, and global standards.
- Join strategic customer meetings, executive discussions, discovery sessions, workshops, and selected demonstrations to coach CVEs and strengthen customer outcomes—while keeping opportunity ownership with the Account Executive.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing on field events, customer forums, and relevant communities or conferences, such as SAFe and PMI events.
- Work with regional sales leaders and Account Executives to understand market needs, support qualified opportunities, and make the CVE team’s expertise accessible across the field.
- Travel regularly (≈25%) to meet customers and support team and field events, with occasional international travel for global leadership meetings.
