Senior Enterprise Customer Success Manager – New York City – Driving Growth & Retention for Leading E‑Commerce Brands at brighthush

🌍 Remote · United States 💼 Full-time

Introduction

At brighthush, we believe that delighted customers are the most powerful marketing asset a brand can own. Our mission is to empower e‑commerce brands to turn every shopper into a lifelong advocate by delivering a unified, data‑driven customer marketing platform. With a suite of tools that span Reviews, Loyalty, Referrals, Quizzes, and Surveys, brighthush is trusted by thousands of high‑growth brands to amplify brand advocacy, increase lifetime value, and accelerate revenue growth.

We’re looking for a seasoned Enterprise Customer Success Manager to join our New York City team. In this role, you will own the long‑term success of our most strategic merchants—brands that rely on brighthush to power their customer‑centric programs. You will act as the trusted advisor and commercial partner for a focused book of enterprise accounts, driving net revenue retention, multi‑product adoption, and measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own Retention and Growth – Manage a portfolio of high‑ARR enterprise merchants, consistently hitting quarterly net revenue retention (NRR), gross retention (GRR), and expansion targets.
  • Strategic Success Planning – Build and execute customized success plans aligned to each merchant’s business goals, peak retail moments, and product roadmap.
  • Risk Management – Identify churn and downsell risk early using account health signals, usage data, and executive relationship mapping, and mobilize cross‑functional resources to mitigate it.
  • Renewal Leadership – Lead renewal strategy and commercial negotiations, partnering with Account Management and Finance to structure multi‑year, multi‑product agreements.
  • Drive Multi‑Product Adoption – Champion adoption across brighthush’s full suite—Reviews, Loyalty, Referrals, Quizzes, and Surveys—so each merchant derives compounding value from a unified platform.
  • Executive Business Reviews – Conduct quarterly executive business reviews (EBRs) with merchant leadership, linking brighthush’s impact to revenue, average order value (AOV), lifetime value (LTV), repeat rate, and customer acquisition cost (CAC) efficiency.
  • Deep Domain Expertise – Become a fluent expert in each merchant’s category, customer base, tech stack, and growth strategy, ensuring every recommendation is commercially relevant.
  • Relationship Building – Cultivate durable relationships across each account—from CMO and Head of Retention down to day‑to‑day operators—embedding brighthush as an essential partner.
  • Expansion Identification – Map each merchant’s lifecycle and tech stack to uncover expansion opportunities—new product additions, increased usage, or replacement of competing tools.
  • Cross‑Sell & Upsell Execution – Partner with Account Management to qualify, scope, and close cross‑sell and upsell opportunities, owning the success story that builds the commercial case.
  • Product Feedback Loop – Serve as the early‑warning system for product, feeding enterprise feature requests, integration gaps, and competitive pressure to keep brighthush ahead of the market.
  • Industry Thought Leadership – Stay current on e‑commerce trends, headless and omni‑channel patterns, and the evolving retention stack, positioning brighthush as a trusted advisor.
  • Team Mentorship – Contribute playbooks, mentor teammates, and shape how the Customer Success team serves enterprise merchants as brighthush scales.

Essential Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise customer success, account management, or strategic accounts at a B2B SaaS company.
  • Proven track record owning a multi‑million‑dollar book of business and consistently hitting NRR, GRR, and expansion targets.
  • Strong commercial acumen and executive presence; comfortable leading data‑driven conversations with CMOs and VPs of e‑commerce.
  • Experience leading renewal cycles, expansion pricing, and executive‑level negotiations in partnership with sales.
  • Deep familiarity with the brighthush ecosystem and the modern e‑commerce retention stack (brighthush, brighthush, brighthush, brighthush, brighthush, etc.).
  • Skilled at building executive relationships, leading quarterly business reviews, and translating product usage into measurable business outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to write clearly under pressure and present confidently to senior stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and operationally rigorous; able to manage a complex book of accounts without dropping balls.
  • Bonus: Prior experience working with brighthush Plus brands, brighthush, or other tools in the e‑commerce retention stack.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with headless commerce platforms and omni‑channel marketing strategies.
  • Background in data analytics and ability to leverage insights to drive customer success outcomes.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for reviews, loyalty, referrals, quizzes, and surveys.
  • Previous exposure to enterprise‑scale product adoption and cross‑sell initiatives.

Success Markers

1‑Month Milestones

  • Completed onboarding and achieved working command of brighthush’s full product suite.
  • Held introductory calls with every account in your book, confirmed primary stakeholders, and documented each merchant’s goals, KPIs, and renewal date.
  • Shadowed onboarding and renewal calls with senior CSMs and began running your own merchant calls with light support.
  • Understood the competitive landscape (brighthush, brighthush, brighthush, etc.) and the broader e‑commerce retention stack well enough to position confidently.

6‑Month Milestones

  • Consistently hitting quarterly NRR, GRR, and expansion targets across your enterprise book.
  • Led at least one full renewal cycle end‑to‑end—including commercial negotiation—and closed measurable expansion on multiple accounts.
  • Every account has an active success plan, a documented executive sponsor, and a healthy cadence of EBRs tied to merchant business outcomes.
  • Become a trusted internal voice on enterprise merchant needs, feeding insights into Product, Marketing, and Partnerships and contributing playbooks the wider CS team is reusing.
  • Act as a go‑to voice for at least one strategic theme—e.g., loyalty strategy, reviews and SEO, retention benchmarks, or partner integrations—and run it with external and internal stakeholders.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

At brighthush, we believe that your professional growth is as important as the value you deliver to our merchants. As an Enterprise Customer Success Manager, you will:

  • Progress into senior leadership roles such as Director of Customer Success or VP of Enterprise Success.
  • Lead cross‑functional initiatives that shape product strategy, go‑to‑market plans, and partner ecosystems.
  • Participate in mentorship programs, industry conferences, and continuous learning workshops.

  • Transparent communication and a commitment to continuous improvement.

While specific figures are tailored to experience and market conditions, brighthush offers a competitive total rewards package that includes:

  • Base salary commensurate with industry standards.
  • Performance‑based bonuses tied to NRR, GRR, and expansion metrics.
