Software Engineer
Software Engineer (Full-Stack) Nebula Genomics Full-Time | Remote Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 Nebula Genomics Nebula Genomics makes whole-genome sequencing accessible directly to consumers. Customers order a DNA collection kit, return their sample for whole-genome sequencing, and explore their genome through our web platform. The platform includes personalized genome reports, genome exploration and analysis tools, and a continuously updated genetics and research newsfeed. We are a small team, which means engineers here have real ownership and a direct impact on the product, our customers, and the business.
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on full-stack engineer to build and maintain features across our technology stack. You’ll contribute code every day and help keep work moving. You will work across our consumer application, B2B partner platform, marketing site, payments, fulfillment systems, and genomic data workflows. This role has a clear path to growing into technical leadership as the team grows. What You’ll Do Build and ship product: Develop new features and improve existing ones across our consumer web application, B2B partner portal, internal tools, and marketing properties. Maintain key integrations: Support and improve systems involving Stripe payments and subscriptions, kit ordering and fulfillment, shipping, laboratory workflows, sequencing data pipelines, and third-party APIs. Collaborate on delivery: Turn well-defined requirements into working code. Review pull requests from our overseas engineer and help unblock their work. Support releases and infrastructure: Work with the Director of DevOps on deployments, monitoring, and fixes across our Firebase, AWS, and Netlify environments. Use AI in your workflow: Use AI-assisted development tools to speed up development, debugging, and routine tasks. Document as you go: Write and maintain runbooks and internal documentation so knowledge doesn’t live in one person’s head. Microsoft 365 and Tech Support (Occasional) Assist with light Microsoft 365 administration as a backup admin: user accounts, licensing, mailboxes, and basic security settings. Provide occasional basic tech support to internal staff, such as account access, email issues, and device setup questions. Our Technology Vue.js

We increasingly use AI-assisted development tools and MCPs throughout our engineering workflow. What We’re Looking For Required 3–5 years of professional full-stack development experience, with a track record of building, debugging, and shipping production applications. Working knowledge of APIs, databases, authentication, deployments, and production debugging. Comfort with Git workflows and code review, both giving and receiving. Experience with, or strong interest in, AI-assisted coding tools. Clear written communication. Much of our coordination happens in writing across time zones.
Nice to Have
Experience with Vue.js, Firebase, or AWS. Experience with Stripe payments and subscription systems. Experience with e-commerce, fulfillment, shipping, or order-management workflows. Experience administering Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace. Exposure to MCPs or connecting AI tools to development workflows. Interest in genomics, bioinformatics, or healthcare technology. Experience at a startup or other small, fast-moving team. Who Will Thrive Here You like variety and owning your work from start to finish. On a given day, you might ship a customer-facing feature, investigate why a sequencing record doesn’t match an order, review a pull request from our overseas engineer, fix a Stripe subscription issue, or help a teammate get back into their email. Priorities can shift quickly. You should be able to adapt and keep a positive attitude in changing conditions. We value ownership, judgment, resourcefulness, and practical problem-solving over unnecessary process. Why Join Nebula Genomics This is a chance to work across a real consumer technology platform at the intersection of software, genomics, AI, and consumer health. Because we’re a small team, you’ll have direct access to leadership and room to grow. As our engineering team grows, this role is positioned to grow into technical leadership.
