State Licensed Legal Counsel

As the first and sole State Licensed Legal Counsel in a full-time remote position, the candidate will own end-to-end legal and compliance functions for a growing fintech startup, focusing on launching new products while ensuring minimal regulatory obligations and maintaining existing operations. Key responsibilities Stand up new products by collaborating with product and engineering teams to ensure minimal licensing and obligations Maintain and enhance existing legal and compliance operations, focusing on automation and efficiency Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners, regulators, and auditors to ensure compliance and operational clarity Required qualifications JD and active bar admission in a US state Prior legal or compliance experience in a fast-growing fintech startup Mid-career experience managing a regulated consumer product throughout its lifecycle Multidisciplinary background with experience in business, engineering, or product roles Hands-on knowledge of consumer finance regulations and compliance frameworks Experience: 5 years required
