Strategic Customer Success Manager – OEM Partnerships (EMEA) – Driving Long‑Term Growth & Retention in High‑Precision Optical Solutions

🌍 Remote · United States 💼 Full-time

About brighthush

brighthush is a global leader in high‑precision optical technologies, headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, with a vibrant presence across 57 locations worldwide. With a dedicated team of over 4,500 professionals, brighthush delivers cutting‑edge microscope systems, objective lenses, and integrated optical components that power clinical diagnostics, life‑sciences research, semiconductor manufacturing, space biology, and industrial instrumentation. Our reputation for unparalleled optical quality has earned us the trust of OEM partners who choose to embed our components into their next‑generation instruments rather than develop them in‑house.

In the heart of Europe, brighthush Europe operates from Hamburg, Germany, employing around 770 experts across 16 countries. We are now expanding our footprint in the EMEA region and are looking for a visionary Customer Success Manager to shape the future of our OEM relationships across the continent.

Why This Role Matters

Unlike traditional inside‑sales or administrative support roles, this position is strategic, high‑visibility, and long‑term. OEM accounts at brighthush span 5 to 20+ years, and the success of these partnerships directly influences our market leadership and revenue growth. As the dedicated Customer Success Manager for the EMEA region, you will own a portfolio of dozens of recurring OEM accounts, ensuring their continued satisfaction, loyalty, and expansion.

Because this is a brand‑new role for the EMEA region, you will not simply follow a pre‑existing playbook. You will have the autonomy, strategic input, and ownership to build and shape how brighthush engages, supports, and retains its OEM customer base for the long term.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Ownership & Retention: Serve as the primary commercial contact for established EMEA OEM accounts. Maintain regular touchpoints with customer purchasing, operations, and technical teams to ensure on‑time delivery, fast problem resolution, and high retention.
  • Proactive Commercial Growth: Go beyond reactive order processing. Track purchasing patterns, identify incremental expansion opportunities, manage quote‑to‑order conversions, and support contract execution.
  • Co‑Pilot Strategic Growth: Partner closely with regional Strategic Account Managers who focus on new business development. Handle commercial continuity so they can drive new design‑ins, and seamlessly transition wins into long‑term accounts.
  • Global & Cross‑Functional Coordination: Collaborate daily with local Customer Support (Prague), Applications Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure seamless fulfillment and quick resolution of customer issues.
  • Pipeline & CRM Management: Maintain accurate forecasting, customer data, and sales activity tracking within CRM to support global business planning.
  • Periodic Customer Engagement: Connect with clients primarily via phone/video, supplemented by periodic face‑to‑face visits, trade shows, and internal team meetings across Europe (approx. once every two months).

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience: 3 to 7 years in inside sales, account management, or technical customer success within a B2B environment—ideally in scientific instrumentation, OEM, optics, semiconductors, or life sciences.
  • Mindset & Ownership: High self‑management, independence, and internal drive. You operate well above a basic administrative level—combining tactical execution with high‑level vision and process design.
  • Language Skills:
    • English – Business fluency required.
    • German – Strong written and spoken proficiency required (a major segment of regional accounts is based in Germany).
    • French – Highly desirable / big advantage.
  • Technical & System Savvy: Comfortable interacting with CRM/ERP tools and navigating technical product discussions with both engineering and commercial stakeholders.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, Physics, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Location: EU based, being based in Prague, Czechia, is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the high‑precision optics or microscope industry.
  • Track record of driving account growth and renewal in a complex B2B environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Fluency in additional European languages (e.g., Spanish, Italian, Dutch) is a bonus.

Skills & Competencies for Success

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to see the big picture and align account strategies with brighthush’s long‑term goals.
  • Relationship Building: Proven track record of building trust and rapport with senior stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • Problem‑Solving: Strong analytical mindset to diagnose issues quickly and propose effective solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German; ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Customer‑Centricity: Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and turning challenges into opportunities.
