Technical Architect – HP-UX / COBOL Migration SME Location: Remote, USA Duration: 6 Months Domain: Life Sciences Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect with hands-on expertise in migrating legacy COBOL, Perl, and Shell workloads from HP-UX on Itanium to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or an HP-UX emulation environment.

Key Responsibilities

Migrate legacy COBOL, Perl, and Shell workloads from HP-UX/Itanium to RHEL or an emulation platform. Analyze OS dependencies, libraries, scripts, batch jobs, and system integrations. Troubleshoot compatibility issues and ensure application functionality after migration. Plan and execute production migration, testing, cutover, and validation activities. Minimize operational risks and ensure system stability during migration. Required Skills Strong hands-on experience with HP-UX and Itanium architecture. Experience with Micro Focus COBOL, Perl, and Shell scripting. Proven experience executing HP-UX-to-RHEL or HP-UX emulation migrations. Expertise in OS dependencies, library compatibility, batch processing, and integrations. Production migration and cutover experience preferred. Important: Candidates must have successfully executed similar platform migrations. COBOL development experience alone is not sufficient.
