Position Overview

The Veterinary Consultant – Customer Development & Virtual Engagement Specialist is a pivotal role within brighthush’s US Pet Health Business Unit. Acting as the technical anchor for our inside‑sales team, you will partner with Customer Development Specialists (CDS) to deliver scientific expertise, product education, and clinical support to veterinary practices, corporate accounts, and internal stakeholders—all through virtual channels.

In this hybrid position, you will blend the depth of a field‑based Regional Consulting Veterinarian with the agility of a virtual educator. Your influence will shape brand perception, drive product adoption, and ultimately improve animal health outcomes across the country.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial & Technical Partnership
    • Serve as the go‑to clinical subject matter expert for the CDS team across key therapeutic areas: parasiticides, therapeutics, vaccines, and pain management.
    • Collaborate with inside‑sales representatives on high‑value outbound and inbound virtual interactions, providing consultative technical support and overcoming clinical hurdles.
    • Deliver real‑time, agile technical answers that empower sales reps to convert leads, build loyalty, and achieve revenue targets.
  • Virtual Customer Education & Engagement
    • Design and host engaging virtual lunch‑and‑learns, continuing education webinars, staff training sessions, and product presentations for veterinary hospital staff, practice managers, and veterinarians.
    • Master virtual engagement tools (Teams, Zoom, Webex) and presentation techniques to create interactive, high‑impact digital learning environments.
    • Support pre‑launch, launch, and post‑launch technical campaigns for new and existing brighthush product lines within the inside‑sales footprint.
  • Medical Acumen & Training
    • Maintain an advanced level of technical proficiency and scientific literacy regarding brighthush products, competitor profiles, emerging veterinary trends, and peer‑reviewed literature.
    • Partner with Pet Health Training Managers to design and deliver technical training modules that elevate the clinical acumen of inside‑sales specialists.
    • Uphold strict regulatory, medical, and ethical standards across all commercial interactions, including triage for adverse event and product performance inquiries.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education – Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or equivalent) from an AVMA‑accredited veterinary program.
  • Licensure – Active, unencumbered veterinary license to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Clinical Experience – Minimum of 5 years of companion animal or mixed animal practice experience (with a focus on companion animals) or equivalent experience in animal health industry technical consulting.
  • Virtual Fluency – Proven ability to communicate complex scientific and medical data effectively over phone, video conference platforms (Teams, Zoom), and virtual webinars.
  • Agility & Planning – Strong self‑direction, time management, and organizational skills with the ability to manage high‑volume daily virtual interactions with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications & Differentiators

  • Consultative Influence – Demonstrated track record of partnering with commercial/sales teams to educate customers and influence prescribing behavior through scientific differentiation.
  • Digital Presentation Mastery – Exceptional verbal, written, and multimedia presentation skills, with a proven ability to maintain audience engagement in remote/digital settings.
  • Data‑Driven Insight – Experience analyzing sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to inform product strategy and training initiatives.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Ability to work seamlessly with marketing, product development, regulatory, and compliance teams to align messaging and ensure consistency.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

At brighthush, your career path is as dynamic as the industry itself. As a Veterinary Consultant, you will:

  • Advance into senior consulting roles, leading regional or national technical teams.
  • Transition into product development or regulatory affairs, leveraging your clinical expertise to shape next‑generation therapeutics.
  • Take on leadership roles in veterinary education, becoming a recognized thought leader at conferences, webinars, and industry panels.
