Role Description The Vice President of Engineering is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading the engineering organization and setting the technical vision and strategy. This role oversees multiple teams, ensuring high-quality software delivery, strong engineering practices, and alignment with product and business goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing and mentoring engineering leaders, guiding architectural decisions, prioritizing initiatives in partnership with Product Management, and overseeing project execution from concept to release. The Vice President of Engineering will establish standards for software development, reliability, security, and scalability, while fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous learning. This role also collaborates with executive leadership on resource planning, budgeting, and long-term technical roadmap development.
Qualifications
Strong Engineering Management and Team Leadership skills, with experience building and scaling high-performing engineering teams. Deep Software Development expertise, including modern development practices, architecture, and quality-focused engineering methodologies. Proficiency in Project Management, with a track record of delivering complex initiatives on time and within scope. Hands-on experience with Product Development, collaborating closely with product and design to align technical execution with business outcomes. Proven ability to operate effectively in a remote environment, with excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. Experience defining engineering roadmaps, budgets, and organizational structures in growth-oriented technology companies. Background in cloud-based systems, distributed architectures, security best practices, and performance optimization is highly beneficial. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience in leading large engineering organizations is a plus.
