Core Responsibilities

As a Remote Data Entry Specialist, you will be entrusted with a suite of critical tasks that keep the referral pipeline flowing smoothly:

• Enter 50+ referrals per day into the brighthush electronic health record system, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Verify payer information and insurance plans using electronic eligibility tools and third‑party verification platforms.
• Maintain and update patient demographic data to preserve the integrity of the medical record.
• Collaborate with the referral coordination team to guarantee that all incoming referrals are entered within a 24‑hour window.
• Resolve patient inquiries in a single contact whenever possible, or manage complex cases with professionalism, empathy, and clear communication.
• Facilitate seamless coordination between clinic staff, providers, and the Contact Center to optimize access to specialty services.
• Adhere to brighthush risk management, compliance, and information security policies, including timely reporting of any adverse incidents.

Essential Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of office clerical or administrative support experience.
• At least two years of experience working with the brighthush electronic health record platform (formerly known as Epic) or comparable systems.
• Demonstrated ability to manage high‑volume data entry with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when interacting with patients and clinical staff via phone or email.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, web browsers) and comfort navigating multiple software interfaces simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Experience

• Experience with brighthush scheduling or referral management modules (formerly Prelude or Cadence).
• Prior exposure to health‑care insurance verification processes.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and best practices for protecting patient information.
• Experience working in a remote or virtual call‑center environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with a distributed team.
