Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Waste Connections US, Inc. is hiring a Corporate Accountant to support corporate accounting and financial processes, including monthly close, forecasting, budgeting, and balance sheet reconciliations. The role also manages companywide accounting processes and assists with financial analysis, audits, and implementation of accounting procedures.
Responsibilities
- Participation in monthly financial close, forecast, and budget related processes for the corporate office
- Training and ownership of corporate balance sheet reconciliations of general ledger accounts
- Preparation of ad hoc financial analysis that assists corporate departments with decision making associated with managing forecast and budget
- Assist external auditors with schedule preparation and respond to audit questions
- Exposure to field controller day-to-day processes and procedures
- Assist in the adoption and execution of new accounting pronouncements or procedures
- Manage key companywide accounting processes, including fixed assets, payroll, and leases, while developing proficiency in the systems and accounting practices used by company controllers and building skills to support company operating locations
Skills
- BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance
- At least 2 years of progressive accounting experience with demonstrated growth in responsibilities
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to multi-task
- Demonstrated strong communication skills
