Position Overview
As a Remote Customer Service Engineer at brighthush, you will be the first line of support for our healthcare partners during the critical implementation of the PACE service‑management platform. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless adoption of the platform, and as the system stabilizes, you will transition into a field‑based role, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of diagnostic imaging equipment—including CT, MRI, X‑ray, fluoroscopy, radiography, and ultrasound systems—across a metropolitan service territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop deep subject‑matter expertise in the PACE service‑management software, mastering its modules for field‑service activities, documentation, labor/time tracking, and parts consumption.
- Provide hands‑on support to fellow Customer Service Engineers during the implementation phase, answering technical questions and resolving practical issues.
- Lead post‑launch hyper‑care efforts, identifying and resolving operational bottlenecks in the new service workflow.
- Transition into a field‑based Customer Service Engineer role, responsible for installing and commissioning diagnostic imaging equipment at customer sites.
- Execute preventive maintenance schedules and perform corrective service on assigned imaging systems, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.
- Diagnose equipment failures, isolate root causes, and execute repairs or component replacements using a systematic troubleshooting approach.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical, electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, and system‑level issues across multiple imaging modalities.
- Carry out equipment modifications and service activities in strict adherence to technical procedures and safety protocols.
- Accurately document all service work—equipment history, parts used, labor/time, and completed activities—using the PACE platform or equivalent work‑order system.
- Deliver responsive, professional technical assistance to customers, translating technical details into clear, actionable information.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with customer personnel and internal technical teams to drive continuous improvement.
- Manage service activities across an assigned metropolitan territory, prioritizing work based on customer needs and business objectives.
- Maintain flexibility to work varying shifts and provide overtime support when required by service demands.
- Continuously develop technical expertise and pursue advancement opportunities within the field‑service organization.
Essential Qualifications
- Associate degree, college diploma, or equivalent military experience in a technical field such as biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or medical equipment technology.
- Hands‑on experience servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, or installing medical diagnostic imaging equipment (CT, MRI, X‑ray, fluoroscopy, radiography, ultrasound).
- Proven field‑service experience working independently at customer locations.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, and computerized systems.
- Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance and resolving equipment failures in the field.
- Excellent customer‑facing communication skills and the ability to represent brighthush professionally at healthcare facilities.
- Proficiency in documenting service activity, parts usage, labor/time, and equipment history using a field‑service or work‑order management system.
- Ability to work effectively within a geographically assigned service territory.
- Willingness to work varying shifts and overtime when business requirements dictate, with advance notice for planned schedule changes.
- Hands‑on, field‑service mindset rather than a purely administrative or software‑support role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PACE or a comparable service‑management software platform.
- Relevant technical education in biomedical engineering, electronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering technology, medical equipment technology, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting multiple imaging modalities or complex diagnostic imaging systems.
- Experience with a major medical imaging equipment manufacturer or healthcare technology organization.
Skills & Competencies
- Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of imaging system architecture, calibration, and safety standards.
- Problem‑Solving: Ability to diagnose complex issues quickly and implement effective solutions.
- Project Management: Manage multiple service calls, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Communication: Translate technical jargon into clear, concise explanations for non‑technical stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities and evolving technologies.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, sales, and customer success.
- Customer Focus: Deliver exceptional service that enhances customer satisfaction and loyalty.
