Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. VARITE INC is recruiting for a confidential client seeking a Cloud Engineer. The role leads complex AWS technical designs and deployments, builds infrastructure automation, and improves the reliability and efficiency of cloud services.
Responsibilities
- This job is responsible for leading the most complex technical designs that enable business strategies in accordance with architectural governance, standards and policies
- Key responsibilities include facilitating deployment of the most complex technical solutions by developing templates, Terraform modules, Ansible playbooks and automation used during implementation
- Job expectations include consistently looking for opportunities to improve the reliability and efficiency of implementing the services, and influencing a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
- Candidate is responsible for designing End to End solutions using AWS services RDS PostgreSQL, Aurora PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, SQS, SNS, EventBridge and Data Firehose
- Serves as a consultant on a broad range of technologies, platforms, and vendor offerings to drive targeted business outcomes
- Develops software solutions to address manual and repeatable work or inefficient processes and contributes to the technology strategy for end-to-end engineering solutions and provides feedback to the architecture teams
- Participates in various steering committees for technical and infrastructure service domains
- Leads the evaluation of reference models, blueprints and playbooks to ensure they are fit for purpose
- Creates an inclusive and healthy working environment and help to resolve organizational impediments/blockers
Skills
- 6 to 8 years of AWS Solution architect experience is required
- AWS Cloud Engineer with expertise in AWS RDS PostgreSQL, Aurora PostgreSQL, SQS, SNS, EventBridge and Data Firehose, DynamoDB, ElastiCache
- Experience working with OPA policies
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Python, CI/CD
- Experience with Python, Unix Shell Scripting
- Key Management Service, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Config, S3, Artifact, Secrets Manager
- AWS security, identity and Compliance services
- CloudBees
- Experience with Terraform is highly recommended
- Experience with Ansible playbook is plus
- Experience with other AWS Analytics services like Kinesis, MSK is a plus
- AWS Solution Architect and AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certification is great plus
