Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Test Data Management solutions for large-scale healthcare applications
- Manage the complete test data lifecycle, including data discovery, profiling, subsetting, provisioning, refresh, versioning, and retirement
- Develop and maintain test data strategies that support functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, performance testing, and end-to-end testing
- Create production-like test datasets while preserving data relationships, business rules, and referential integrity across interconnected systems
- Implement data subsetting and synthetic data generation strategies to provide realistic datasets without unnecessarily duplicating entire production databases
- Establish standardized processes for test data provisioning, refresh schedules, data quality validation, and environment readiness
- Coordinate test data demand across multiple teams and applications, ensuring datasets are available when needed
- Define and maintain a consistent test data management framework across different application groups and testing environments
- Optimize test data availability, reuse, storage consumption, and provisioning turnaround time
- Establish governance, documentation, and operational metrics to measure test data quality, coverage, availability, and cost
- Design and implement data masking solutions to protect sensitive healthcare and personal information in non-production environments
- Apply masking techniques to PHI, PII, and other confidential data elements in accordance with organizational security policies and applicable regulatory requirements
- Develop consistent masking standards across databases, applications, files, and integrated systems
- Implement static and dynamic data masking techniques where appropriate
- Ensure referential integrity and business usability are preserved after masking across related tables, applications, and datasets
- Validate masking effectiveness and ensure sensitive information cannot be exposed through test environments
- Support compliance assessments, data protection reviews, audit requirements, and evidence collection
- Collaborate with security, privacy, compliance, data governance, and application teams to establish approved masking policies
- Maintain reusable masking rules, metadata, and configurations for repeatable test data refresh cycles
- Design and implement cloud-based test data management solutions across enterprise data platforms
- Provision, refresh, and manage test datasets in cloud-hosted development, testing, staging, and quality assurance environments
- Leverage cloud storage, database services, automation, and infrastructure capabilities to improve test data provisioning and management
- Automate test data refresh, masking, validation, and distribution workflows
- Optimize cloud storage and compute consumption while maintaining data availability and performance
- Implement appropriate access controls, encryption, monitoring, and data retention policies for test data
- Support integration between cloud-based platforms, enterprise applications, and existing on-premises data systems
- Evaluate opportunities to use cloud-native services for scalable, secure, and cost-effective test data management
- Design and manage storage strategies for production-scale datasets across lower environments
- Maintain data consistency, completeness, accuracy, and referential integrity across interconnected systems
- Define data retention, archival, refresh, and cleanup strategies for non-production environments
- Monitor storage utilization, compute consumption, database performance, and environment capacity
- Optimize data storage and processing costs without compromising test coverage or data quality
- Ensure consistent platform configurations and reliable data availability across testing environments
- Establish validation checks to identify data corruption, missing relationships, duplicate records, and inconsistencies after data refresh or masking
- Collaborate with database administrators, cloud engineers, application teams, and platform engineering teams to maintain environment stability
- Establish a predictable test data refresh calendar aligned with application release schedules and testing demand
- Plan test data provisioning and refresh activities across multiple application groups and environments
- Incorporate demand from all participating teams into a unified capacity and refresh planning process rather than maintaining duplicated processes for separate application groups
- Automate recurring refresh, masking, data validation, and provisioning activities
- Define service-level expectations for dataset availability, refresh completion, and issue resolution
- Monitor refresh failures, data quality issues, storage growth, and infrastructure utilization
- Coordinate with development, QA, performance testing, release management, and infrastructure teams to ensure timely data availability
- Define the target architecture and technical roadmap for enterprise Test Data Management capabilities
- Establish reusable standards, patterns, and best practices for test data provisioning, masking, and lifecycle management
- Work with business stakeholders, architects, developers, testers, security teams, and compliance teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Maintain architecture documentation, data flow diagrams, masking specifications, and operational procedures
- Identify opportunities to improve test data automation, scalability, governance, and operational efficiency
- Lead technical discussions, resolve complex data management issues, and provide guidance to engineering teams
- Ensure solutions support enterprise scalability, security, maintainability, and regulatory compliance
