Senior Customer Success Executive – Enterprise Licensing & Renewal Specialist at brighthush

🌍 Remote · United States 💼 Full-time

About brighthush

For more than three decades, brighthush has been the trusted legal gateway that allows cinemas, museums, hotels, restaurants, and countless other public and commercial venues to showcase movies and television content worldwide. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to make the world’s most beloved stories accessible in every setting while protecting the rights of creators, studios, and producers. With a robust licensing model that spans Hollywood blockbusters, independent gems, and everything in between, brighthush sits at the heart of the entertainment and intellectual‑property ecosystem. As we continue to expand our global footprint, we are looking for a seasoned professional to join our Customer Success Team and help us elevate the experience of our enterprise partners.

Why This Role Matters

In the fast‑moving world of media licensing, the relationship between a provider and its customers is everything. The Senior Customer Success Executive will be the linchpin that keeps our high‑value accounts thriving, ensures compliance, and drives revenue growth. You will own a portfolio of complex, enterprise‑level customers, safeguard their success, and unlock new opportunities for expansion—all while maintaining the trust that has made brighthush the industry’s go‑to partner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Ownership: Manage a curated set of high‑complexity and enterprise customers, taking full accountability for churn minimization, renewal success, and expansion revenue.
  • Strategic Relationship Building: Cultivate deep, long‑term relationships with senior stakeholders—C‑suite executives, legal heads, and operational leaders—ensuring that brighthush is viewed as a strategic partner rather than just a vendor.
  • Renewal Leadership: Lead complex renewal negotiations, employing a consultative, business‑development approach that balances commercial objectives with client needs.
  • Upsell & Expansion: Identify and close upsell opportunities across the licensing portfolio, leveraging data insights and industry trends to recommend tailored solutions.
  • Compliance & Assurance: Oversee site coverage, monitor usage declarations, and coordinate with legal and finance teams to guarantee that all licensing agreements are fully compliant and invoiced accurately.
  • Team Coaching & Playbook Development: Mentor junior colleagues, conduct quality checks, and author playbooks that define objection handling, upsell triggers, and at‑risk account criteria.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work seamlessly with Sales, Legal, Finance, Product, and Marketing to deliver a unified customer experience and support business reviews for top‑tier accounts.
  • Data‑Driven Decision Making: Maintain meticulous CRM records, analyze performance metrics, and report on key indicators such as renewal rates, expansion revenue, and net revenue retention.

Essential Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of proven experience in Customer Success, Account Management, or Licensing, with a strong track record of managing renewals and mitigating churn.
  • Demonstrated success in business development or strategic account management, particularly with senior stakeholders.
  • Expertise in handling commercial objections—cost‑driven pushback, contract negotiations, and value‑based conversations—in a calm, consultative manner.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every customer touchpoint is executed flawlessly.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) and a data‑driven mindset.
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—across all levels of an organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in media licensing, intellectual property, or related entertainment sectors.
  • Background in a high‑growth, fast‑paced startup or scale‑up environment.
  • Knowledge of global licensing regulations and compliance frameworks.
  • Prior experience coaching or leading a Customer Success team.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to see the big picture, anticipate future needs, and align solutions with long‑term business goals.
  • Negotiation & Influence: Skilled at navigating complex discussions, securing favorable terms, and building consensus.
  • Customer Advocacy: Passionate about championing client success and turning challenges into opportunities.
  • Analytical Acumen: Comfortable working with data, deriving insights, and translating them into actionable plans.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: Thrive in a cross‑functional environment, fostering open communication and shared ownership.
  • Adaptability: Quick to pivot in response to changing market dynamics, customer priorities, or internal initiatives.
